Long story short I don't like Hylia (lyrics from Take Me to Church and yea that whole second verse is absolutely botw Zelda's struggle. anyways)

you telling me these three wouldn’t be total besties? 

Link and Paya would absolutely bond before Ganon’s defeat/Zelda’s return, and most of it would be bc stupid shit. Star gazing on the cliff overlooking Kakariko, cooking, driving the rest of the village crazy with their shenanigans. (and i see their relationship as 100% platonic btw, complete and total besties)

Link telling Paya all about his adventures in Hyrule while she, who has never been allowed out of Kakariko, gets to hear all about the world she’s been dying to explore and study the history of. 

Paya on the flip side showing Link the history of Hyrule, not the history of 100 years ago but of even further. How truly small Calamity Ganon and their struggles are in the grand scheme of things, how no matter what happens, Hyrule will pick itself back up and things will be ok.

And then Link finally defeats the Calamity and brings Zelda to Kakariko immediately. We finally get our much awaited Zelda/Impa reuinion!!!

But more importantly, Zelda and Paya become fast friends over their love of knowledge and research. Paya may be more of a history/archaeology buff, and Zelda may be interested in a more scientific/ancient tech based field, but they love just talking about their interests with someone equally as passionate. Link’s just kinda there HAHA

At some point i’ll make a post about an au idea that’s been in my head for a good year or so. i’m not sure how many people would be interested in listening to another zelda fans ramblings lmao
