seokjin & namjoon are not bad dancers and this is why
LISTEN UP LOSERS 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣 there’s been a trend going on in the kpop fandom as a whole where NON DANCERS (aka people w no dance experience) like to talk about dance as if they have dance experience, so as a DANCER (aka someone w lots of  dance experience), i would like to sit ur asses down for a lesson
1. people always commenting on their bad dancing
okay first and foremost: fuck you, second of all: fuck you, and third of all: FUCK YOU 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣 you’re not their director, their teacher, their instructor, or even any of the other members of bts who have been with them through a 7-8 year long relationship. you guys have absolutely no right to ask for them to leave the group or to make them feel so bad about their dancing it’s clear that it makes them uncomfortable, especially when they become the laughingstock of audiences during televised/recorded appearances !!!!!!!
do you know what that shit does to your self esteem? and this isn’t even talking about PERSONAL, INTERNAL embarrassment or hatred or loathing when you’re taking class or in rehearsal and you see people who are miles above you absolutely slaying the choreography & you have 0.000001% chance of ever looking like them in ur whole life. that shit kills, dude. like that “this kills the man” meme? it’s like that but about 500x worse. and bts is together all the time; dancing together….all the time; rehearsing together ALL THE TIME, and this sort of mentality really sticks with you and hinders your progress
it’s a joke that other bts members can make, but as fans we should be supportive of the sheer amount of effort they put into their work, especially considering how tight their schedules have become in the past year alone. there’s not much time to take classes, and believe me - that lack of technique shows a lot
ever heard of something called growth mindset?? (here’s a TED talk about it from a stanford graduate) it’s basically where you tell yourself “i know i can’t do it right now, but i can do it later”, which is positive reinforcement that enhances learning abilities and emotional success ! by A LARGE MAJORITY OF FANS poking fun and slandering weaker dancers in a group, you’re putting them in a box and making them believe that there’s no way they’re going to get out.
“oh but they won’t read my comments!” but how come variety hosts keep bringing it up?? on national television??? how’s that for making fun of them for their dancing????
they’re not even bad at it. i’m sure if you asked fans to cover their dances, they would pale in comparison to namjin
2. calling out “bad dancing” and not being able to give corrections
as an audience member, i believe it’s valid to see someone execute something and have a moment of “huh….that doesn’t look quite right to me, but i can’t figure out why….” because that shows you’re actively engaged in the dancing
HOWEVER!!!!!!!! that doesn’t mean that you can go around with your bad vocabulary and limited knowledge of dance and your “choreographies” and “free-style” and “this is modern dance!!” (newsflash, none of kpop is modern and i will NOT HESITATE end a bitch if i have to deal with that bullshit again. just admit you’re uneducated in dance and leave it @ that) and think ur superior
please don’t act like you know what you’re talking about just bc you happened to watch shinee’s “lucifer” 40 times and have learned all of bts’ dances. that’s not technique. you don’t have technique; you’re just replicating the movement. without technique your dancing is not even HALF of what it should be, and therefore that is a severe lack of pre-professional training required to be able to speak critically about dance
don’t act like you’re above them. don’t speak down to them. i assure you that they have thousands of hours more experience than you do in the dance department ok
3. denying that they are professional dancers
all of bts dances on a regular basis. they go to class (though this is questionable…) and they go to rehearsal and they perform and they tour etc.  they get PAID to dance, and if you get PAID for ANYTHING YOU DO, congratulations: you are a professional. if you suck a dick and get paid? guess what? you’re now a PROFESSIONAL dick sucker.
jin and namjoon get PAID to dance, and therefore they are professional dancers. maybe they’re not in the dance world, but neither is the rest of bts and all the other kpop groups out there, and they’re still getting CASH 👏 MONEY 👏 for it
even if they’re the weakest link in the group, they’re still professional dancers. you don’t go around calling the corps de ballet of a ballet company “not professionals” just bc they aren’t as good as the soloists or principles, so why would you do the same with namjin?
4.  not commenting/noticing/caring about their improvement
this is the point that bothers me the MOST out of all the rest. as a dancer, your career is rooted in 1) how much you can stand out from the crowd 2) how quickly you’re able to a choreographer’s style and 3) how much you are able to push yourself to improve
if you, as an audience member, says something about bad dancing, i’m expecting you to be able to point out their improvement as time goes on. weaker dancers aren’t just people you can have fun slandering and then not mention anything when they get better.
do you know how much hard work that takes???? how much perseverance and energy and effort?????? so much happens behind the camera that non-dancers don’t know about, and this is one of the biggest ones
you guys like to think that Just Because dance line can do it or Just Because other members make it look easy or Just Because the better dancers say they work hard at the choreography, means that it’s easy and namjin are just being lazy.
seokjin is naturally at a disadvantage; he was literally picked up off the street for his pretty face and hadn’t either sang or danced seriously previously. namjoon is naturally at a disadvantage; he was promised that he’d debut in a non-dancing hip hop duo/trio by bighit
“but yoongi’s able to dance and he and namjoon were both non-dancers and in the same batch of trainees!!!!” some people have a natural affinity for dance. it doesn’t make those who are worse at it automatically lazier lol
“but my silence is a compliment! there’s nothing for me to point out!!” just because you have nothing negative to say about them means you can’t say anything at all? how come i’m reading all these comments about how GREAT jimin looks and how HOT jungkook is when he does this and how AMAZING hobi’s footwork is but nothing about the work others have put into their dancing as well? stop being transparent you guys…………..
i don’t have time for people who are just looking for more ways to put hyung line down
tldr; why do so many “fans” suddenly become professional dancers when seokjin & namjoon don’t dance as well compared to the rest of the group, but then completely disappear when they return with CLEAR improvement (that only comes w hours of diligence and rehearsal time) and don’t say anything positive about them?

panic/anxiety attack
breath in for 4 seconds
hold your breath for 7 seconds
exhale breath for 8 seconds
repeat once or twice more.
This causes an autonomic nervous system shift from a sympathetic (fight or flight reaction) state to a parasympathetic response.
Use this for panic/anxiety attacks, exams, presentations.

i havent put anything here in a while, i guess i’ve been really cramped with... life stuff
summer school is done in a week, lots of assignments and tests,  but i hope i can simply pass and make it through all of this
im learning to get over you, as difficult as it is. i havent been talking to you much... as much as i want to. im afraid that interacting with you will bring back these feelings that ive suppressed so... maybe i should wait until they’re fully gone? idk
maybe ‘you’ will be someone else soon
maybe im just a dirty pig who doesnt respect women at all
idk
i have to finish my work, lets hope i can do it quickly! tt
