Sooo polite! No no, you’re fine. As long as you aren’t using religion as an excuse to harass or hide your own behaviour, or force ideas on everyone, you’re ok, dear asker. Religion was a topic that purposely had a certain level of ambiguity in Thomas, which was something truly amazing for a clergyman writing stories during world war 2. Then again, Percy swears in canon. I’m sure wilbert was a hell of a bloke with a great sense of humour.

Anyhoo - if the engines HAD been religious, or in terms of humanised versions, I could see it. Edward was built in the late 19th century. Religion and other social norms were very different than today. Society was much stricter than today. Edward is certainly disciplined more, and you see that being hinted at in his wiseness.

This can be viewed from several different perspectives - some more positive than others. For example -

The key is in how YOU choose to interpret it, and what you take away from it. I was born to a catholic family, but became Sikh when I discovered that I was mixed race in me 20’s. For me, Thomas exemplifies a lot of values - the show has physical modesty. You don’t see anyone inappropriately dressed or doing anything vulgar. There r no body parts to fret over. The engines are imperfect, but they learn from mistakes, and try to help others. We can make of things as we wish from there (and we certainly do, don’t we? lol)

I could see that…or at least a mentor maybe. In fact, instead of making Gordon a gushing mess at the end (wtf was that? Like having Edward n Emily almost dating??? Huhhh), should have paired these two up. They could relate to each other more. That might have been an interesting episode, and maybe allowed us to learn more about them, and given us more insight into some dynamics of their personalities.

Ok, so whilst I was working on the last post, I made a discovery. Look inside Gordon’s gob. It’s in the shadows, but it’s PINK. He has flesh in there. (Unless that’s rust inside?) What is beyond that, n how it sticks to the rest of his facial ‘anatomy’ if it IS flesh is a true mystery. Just thought u should see that.
