little kids are so fucking funny man. had a kid that couldn’t be any older than like 8 or so come up to me today asking where our dinosaur books where, and when i tried to gently redirect them downstairs (where our kids section is) they very matter-of-fairly informed me that they’d already read every book down there and are ready to learn about the “secret, grown-up only dinosaurs” now

Something I want able bodied people to understand is that I don't want a diagnosis cause I wanna be sick so bad; I want a diagnosis because there is already something wrong with my body but I don't know what the fuck it is.

I would like to see more people talk about how jobs treat disabled employees.

I used to prep, wash dishes, and cook at mellow mushroom. I had chronic pain that wasn't NEARLY as bad as it is today, but it was still very debilitating. I told my employer "i cannot stand more than 4 to 6 hours. I CANNOT do shifts longer than this due to my illness." And even though i made my boundaries VERY clear, everyday i worked it was 8 hours at the least and 10 or 12 at the most. I would go up to my manager and say "look i really need to leave, my shift is over, my chronic pain is killing me." And he'd say "we really need to here, you HAVE to push through." And so i did, and after one, ONE month of that job my crps got incredibly worse to the point where i could no longer walk my dog around the block which was .5 miles. I quit, and that was FOUR years ago, and ever since that day I HAVE BEEN BEDRIDDEN AND HAVE TO USE A WHEELCHAIR. It is my biggest regret in life.

My best friend who has seen my whole journey has recently developed undiagnosed chronic pain, and she is in the EXACT same scenario i was 4 years ago. Busting her ass at a pizza place with extreme pain that hurts her so much she tells me "im in so much pain i don't even feel like a person." She doesn't feel LUCID. And her manager and coworkers are saying the same thing "if you don't help us you will let us down, we'll be in the shit."

That job thats hurting you isn't fucking worth it. I promise you no money is worth losing all your physical abilities and never getting them back. Your coworkers and boss do not give a shit about you, so don't you dare suffer for them. They will never understand your struggle and they will never try. They truly think being understaffed is worse than whatever pain you experience. They would rather you permanently damage yourself than inconvenience them. FUCK THEM. DON'T FUCKING DO IT!

Impmas 2024: Holiday Imperial Fanworks Prompts

Brought to you by the Seswennan Social Club, we are very pleased to ring in the holiday season with Impmas 2024! All fanworks are welcome, whether it be fic, fanart, curated playlists, etc.

For your work to be included in the ao3 collection, it needs to focus on the Imperials (featuring characters like Thrawn, Veers, Piett, Motti, Jerjerrod, Dedra Meero, Krennic, Tarkin, Pellaeon, etc.), Imperial Ships, and/or Imperial OCs. Remember, we’re here for the Imps who serve the Empire, not the Sith.

Its so refreshing to read this, I've read so many misconceptions about Swain's lore (and by extension Noxus lore) in the last weeks, sometimes even coming from people who claim to know League's lore well.

As a Swain main, the one that bothers me the most is when people think he is part of the black rose, or was alied with them in the past, this is really common to see and is one of the many misconceptions that comes from his old pre rework lore, that changed a lot.

I can excuse some of the confusion about crows and ravens as there are languages where both share the same name (like in portuguese, both crows and ravens are called corvos) it can easily become a mess, not only when it relates to Swain's lore or Beatrice.

i need to get this out of me since i'm seeing a lot of people already throwing wrong facts about Swain on a couple of platforms (mostly twitter) left and right :

• Swain's birds are Ravens. RAVENS, not crows. His favorite is named Beatrice. [If you go in game, he even makes a joke about which one of the ravens is Beatrice.]

• He did NOT lose his hand from Raum. He lost it during the battle of Ionia, where Irelia sliced his hand off.

• He is NOT a part of the Black Rose. He does, however, accepts them as members of Noxus, Despite knowing that they will and are backstabbing him. This is because of his vision for Noxus that is strength through unity.

• He was a noble first, then got drafted/ became a soldier and went around winning wars under the orders of the previous Emperor, Boram Darkwill. He then went to expand their western borders, then onto Shurima, until it exhausted their resources and got them into an unwinnable fight (Ionia).

• It was there that he first saw Raum, who told him about the betrayal of Darkwill, whom was manipulated by LeBlanc, the leader of the Black Rose. He then returned back to Noxus, and got casted aside.

• After that, he went on to search for power. It was then that he got Raum, and found a way to use it's power for himself.

• The Trifarix has three people representing each principle. Swain represents Vision, Darius is Might, and the Faceless is Guile.

• Swain had set it up so that if one of them ended up misusing their power, the other two could stop the one leading astray.

•When he got into power, he dismantled a lot of Noxus' current policies and privileges for nobles regarding inheritance of wealth, power and ownership of human property.

• Swain made Katarina go on a task to kill her own father Marcus de Couteau, to test her if she would be able to kill him (Swain) in the event he becomes corrupt. She completed it, with the intervention of Swain in the end. You can find more details of this in her comic.

And there is a lot more, but this is mostly the basics.
