HOW TO: Pack the Best Back to School Lunch
By Trump Hotels
Tumblr media
School is back in session. And alongside school comes school lunches. Check out how to pack the best school lunch, worthy of your little one's tiny tastebuds!
THE SANDWICH: Switch up the old peanut butter & jelly sandwich with a peanut butter & fluff sandwich. It's a sweet and savory combination for the ages and will brighten your child's day. Feeling extra adventurous? Opt for strawberry flavored fluff for an extra kick.
THE FRUIT: Your daily serving of fruit is important! Why not make up a little fruit salad with all of their favorite fruits? Our favorite is a berry medley with strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries.
THE CRUNCH: One word: popcorn. Season a snack baggie of fresh-popped popcorn with dried rosemary, salt, garlic powder and parmesan cheese for a twist on the old classic.
THE SWEET TREAT: A classic school lunch isn't complete without something sweet to round out the meal. Send them with a Tupperware of Nutella with pretzel sticks to guarantee a smile.
Let this super-packed lunch serve as inspiration for the rest of the school year. You're already "The Parent of the Year" — lunches like these will only solidify your status.

BEST PRE-GOLF STRETCHES
By Trump Aberdeen
Tumblr media
This month, we're showcasing how we #NeverSettle when it comes to offering the best golf in the world. We've compiled five simple putting tips to help lower scores and "drain" that ball under par! Also, bear in mind that all Trump courses have golf professionals on hand to help improve your game and fit you into a custom putter.
1. Get Your Putter Fit
The first key is simple: your putter needs to suit you. Pay attention to the length, number and color of the lines to assist with correct positioning. The size and color of the head, as well as the neck of the putter, play a big role in your ability to properly align. Finally, the length, lie angle and grip size are extremely important parts of the putter that can be adjusted to match your height and natural grip.
2. Grip Pressure
When gripping your clubs, remember not to "choke" your clubs with a tight, inflexible grasp. A firm-yet-gentle hold will allow your body to deliver a better swing.
3. Alignment
Try to focus more on looking at your target when setting up to the golf ball. Similar to other sports, you must look at your target to know where you need to go and how you need to get there. You will be surprised by how much this helps with setting yourself up correctly.
4. Focus on the Putter Face
We know you're beautiful, but let's focus on your putter's front, also known as its face. The face is responsible for 90% of the outcome of the putt. Focus on angling the putter face so it's aligned to the target destination (in this case, the putting green hole).
5. Chipping
Always remember to accelerate through the ball when chipping around the greens. It will allow the club move the turf better and offer more control. It's important to maintain a consistent pre-shot routine. This will allow you to remain focused on the golf course.
6. Sharpen Skills with One Simple Drill!
Begin with a 10 foot putt and work on hitting 3 golf balls in a row into the box. When you are able to do that, back up 5 feet each time until you get to 35 feet. Measure the length of time it takes you to complete the drill. If you follow these simple steps, your putting score will improve while your scores become lower and lower.
These tips and tricks will help in your quest to #NeverSettle when it comes to upping your golf game. Hope to see you on one of our courses soon!

ABBREVIATED GUIDE TO DRINKING CRAFT BEER FOR INTERNATIONAL BEER DAY
By Trump Doonbeg
Tumblr media
Happy International Beer Day! To celebrate this momentous holiday, we've put together a quick-and-easy guide for identifying various kinds of craft beer. Craft beer is pretty much split between ales and lagers. We'll start with the different kinds of ales and then transition into lagers.
Ales
Ales are much more common than lagers in the world of craft beer. They are also older, having been developed thousands of years ago.. Ales are fermented warm with top-fermenting yeast. Usually ales are served warm or at “cellar” temperature, which is around 50°F.
1) Brown Ales
Brown ales are mostly reddish or brownish in color. If you like caramel or coffee flavors, this is the beer for you. This type of beer is a recommended choice for non-beer drinkers due to its milder taste.
2) Pale Ales
Pale ales are sharper in taste and more bitter than brown ales. Some popular pale ales include Amber, American Pale (APA), Blonde, Irish Red and India (IPA).
3) Porters
Porters have a pretty thick taste, but are still thinner than Stouts. If you’re a chocaholic or a coffee addict, you've come to the right beer.
4) Stouts
Stouts are often dark and rich. Licorice and molasses are common flavor profiles in stouts.
Lagers
Lagers are brewed in colder temperatures and unlike the ale, use bottom-fermenting yeast. Lagers cam take months to brew. They are also served cold for your sipping pleasure.
1) Pale Lagers
Pale Lagers are fizzier than most lagers and are a good entry drink into the world of lagers.
2) Pilsners
Pilsners are similar to pale lagers. The main difference between pilsners and pale lagers are their slightly bitter taste.
3) Marzens
Marzens, the lager of Bavaria (Travel Note: Oktoberfest is next month!). Grab yourself one of these full-bodied beers that are dark copper in color. Marzens also have a distinct malty flavor.
4) Bocks
Bocks have a malty sweetness and a hoppy bitterness. These lagers aren’t super common but worth exploring if you're new to the world of craft beer.
Grab a cold one today and celebrate!

While you are enjoying your new arrangement, read up on the history of The National Cherry Blossom Festival:

The gift and festival celebrates the friendship between Japan and the US and the two countries have been exchanging gifts ever since this moment.
First Lady Helen Herron Taft and Viscountess Chinda, the wife of the Japanese ambassador, planted the first two trees on the North bank of the Tidal Basin in West Potomac Park during a small ceremony on March 27, 1912.
Today, it goes on for four weeks and welcomes over 1.5 million people with various activities and view of the trees.

The service of a Juniper’s Knot at The Trump Champagne Lounge is quite the experience in and of itself. It is served on a forest floor and has an accompanying earthy pine and campfire smoke frozen steam that emerges from within to transport the guest to a far away place.
Ingredients:
Cowichan Valley Organic Ampersand gin
Hand pressed lemon juice
Oxidized port
Porcini mushroom, juniper, and blackberry coulis
Garnished with Hand crafted umami white truffle sugar and angostura and peach toasted marshmallows.

HOW TO
Back to School Recipes
from Trump Waikiki
Tumblr media
Hawaii is renowned for it “melting pot” culture which features a distinctive blend of ethnicities, storied practices and age-old traditions spanning from around the globe. This interwoven mix of culture has shaped many practices in our islands, providing an abundance of rich flavors and savory options to our cuisine.
Our focus today will be on the Vietnamese cuisine, often characterized by fresh, raw ingredients and distinct, bold flavors. Banh Mi, a popular local dish, is the Vietnamese take on the sandwich which is generally served on French bread with a meat or tofu choice along with cilantro, cucumber, pickled carrot and daikon (winter radish).
At Trump International Hotel Waikiki, we offer our take on this classic Vietnamese dish for lunch with our Banh Mi Turkey Wrap. In place of bread, the dish features a whole wheat tortilla, as well as oven-roasted turkey breast. Lemongrass sauce is dressed on fresh cucumber, mint and cilantro, infusing a hint of spice and zest. Adding the influence of Japanese cuisine, the dish is further punctuated by our hand-crafted carrot and daikon namasu, or pickled vegetables.
In addition to a hearty, healthy and delicious lunch option for both kids and adults, our Banh Mi Turkey Wrap is also easy to make and can be served as a grab-and-go entree, saving parents with busy schedules precious time. Instructions have been included below:
Ingredients:
One large whole wheat tortilla
Oven-roasted turkey breast (about 4 slices)
Romaine lettuce (2 large leaves)
Cucumber (4 slices of cucumber julienne)
Mint leaves (5-6 pieces)
Cilantro (3-4 sprigs cut into 1″ in length)
Mayonnaise (1 tablespoon)
Toothpicks (2 pieces)
Namasu
Daikon (1/4 cup julienne)
Carrot (1/8 cup julienne)
Rice vinegar (1/2 cup)
Sugar (1/2 cup)
Water (1 cup)
Iodized salt (2 teaspoons)
Additional salt and 1 cup of water in a bowl set on the side
Lemongrass Sauce:
Lemongrass (1 stick rough chop)
Cilantro (5-6 sprigs chopped)
Lemon juice (1/4 cup)
Sambal (1 table spoon- this ingredient can be decreased if spiciness is not desired)
Fish sauce (3 tablespoons)
Before assembling the wrap, make the garnishes and sauce.
Namasu:
With the bowl of water, add enough salt until it tastes like sea water and then add the julienne daikon and carrot. Let soak for about 30 minutes. This will not only add flavor to the vegetables, but it will also draw out water, as well as add the crispiness of the namasu vegetables.
Drain the water out.
Carefully squeeze as much water from the vegetables.
Next, mix together the water, rice vinegar, sugar and salt. Add the vegetables to the liquid and chill in the refrigerator overnight.
Lemongrass Sauce:
Place all ingredients in blender and blend until everything is finely blended together for the sauce.
Directions:
Place on Romaine leaf on the cutting board.
Next, place the turkey slices on top of the Romaine lettuce leaf followed by the namasu vegetables.
Gently, place the cucumber, followed by the mint and cilantro and pour the lemongrass sauce over generously.
Use the second Romain lettuce leaf to cover all ingredients. Lettuce on both the top and bottom will help to secure the wrap and will aid in rolling everything together.
Heat the whole wheat tortilla until warm. If prepared cold, the tortilla will rip during the rolling process.
Once heated, spread the mayonnaise on one side of the tortilla.
Place all the ingredients that were previously assembled into the tortilla.
Then, carefully roll the tortilla, similarly to rolling a burrito.
Put the toothpicks about 1/2 inch from each end and cut the wrap in half.
Pair the wrap with your favorite chips and enjoy your Banh Mi Turkey Wrap!

HOW TO
Autumn-proof your skin with trips from THE TRUMP SPA
from Trump Doral
Autumn-proof and invest in your skin with Autumn Escape specials at The Trump Spa. Learn more.
‘Tis the season for cool, crisp air, colorful leaves and pumpkin flavored everything. Autumn is here, and the shift to dry, dehydrating weather often spikes cases of skin imbalances such as dry patches and flakiness. Not pretty. The good news is The Trump Spa has compiled ways to Autumn-proof your skin. Pick up a Pumpkin Spiced Latte and read on to enjoy youthful, glowing complexion year round.
1. Boost hydration. Moisturize your skin from the inside out with an autumn-proof diet of moisture-rich foods. Think leafy greens, healthy fats and water-based fruits. Now more than ever, it’s important to hydrate your skin tissues with water and avoid any dehydrating substances such as alcohol and caffeine. Make it fun and flavorful by infusing water with your favorite fruit. Cucumber mint infused water is a staple at The Trump Spa.
2. Keep your blood flowing. Cold weather constricts blood vessels, which decreases blood circulation and results in dull skin. By transferring oxygen to skin cells, blood creates healthy, bright complexion. To stimulate circulation, The Trump Spa employs skincare methods that contain blood-invigorating ingredients such as vitamin C. The Citrus Essence Facial, for example, is an antioxidant treatment that revitalizes skin by incorporating 100% pure vitamin C.
3. Peel… That’s right, peel. Skin exfoliation is imperative throughout the dry season to prevent the buildup of dead cells. To keep skin looking young and vibrant, find a gentle scrub to work in to your regular skin ritual (use 1-3 times per week). For the ultimate renewal, treat your skin to the Custom Cleansing Facial at The Trump Spa. A highly-trained skin care expert conducts a skin analysis before custom-designing a cleansing facial with tailored skin peel, mask and extraction techniques.
4. Oil up. Nourish your skin and maintain elasticity by applying all-natural oil. For best results, enjoy a stress melting Spa ritual that employs specially blended aromatherapy oils, such as the Trump Luxury Custom Massage.

The history of Panama
from Trump International Hotel & Tower Panama
When it all started…
Panama became known to the world when the famous canal was being built. The stunning country has a rich history and friendly culture. Panama’s first citizens were the indigenous tribes of the Cocle and Cuevas people. They lived mostly peaceful lives and lived off the land until Europeans began arriving. Rodrigo de Bastida was the first European to set foot in Panama in 1501. Christopher Columbus gained an interest in the country and arrived a year later to establish the city of Darien. The Cuevas people suffered greatly from the effects of Spanish colonization. By 1535, the tribe was officially exterminated. Europe would gain a fascination with the biodiverse country. Vasco de Balboa completed his journey to the Isthmus of Panama in 1513. The European had sought to prove that Panama could be reached through a crossing. As a result, Panama was elevated from a quiet country into a major trading center. Silver and gold were major imports and exports. Panama was the middleman for shipping gold from the New World discovered by Columbus to the royal coffers in Spain. Panama would remain a colony of Spain for almost 300 years. Columbia took over in 1821 and Panama became part of their domain. Panama was not happy at the thought of not being independent and sought help from America. In 1903, Panama was able to declare its independence and signed a treaty with America. In exchange for the United States to vouch for their freedom, Panama gifted America with the rights to a zone 10 miles wide and 50 miles long, enough to build the Panama Canal. The Panamanian-America project was completed in 1914 and officially the canal was turned over to Panama in 1999. Laborers came from all over the world to build the largest canal the world had ever seen. At its peak, there were 45,000 workers. The majority of the laborers were from Panama, the West Indies, Europe, and Asia. The intent of the canal was to unite the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The result is Panama has a rich genetic history that honors almost every culture in the world. There remain citizens, however, who are descended from the indigenous tribes of Kunas, Emberás, and Ngöbe-Buglés.
Our present…
Panama is known for its stunning biodiversity. Mountains, rainforests, and white sandy beaches create a background for paradise. There are 12 million acres of rain forest that are only accessible by boat. There are more 1,400 tree species and a multitude of animals that are unique to Panama such as the golden frog. Visit Panama today. Take a tour of the Panama Canal that united the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans for the world. Its rich history pulls from a diverse range of cultures from the indigenous tribes that were the first residences to the laborers who came to Panama for the benefit of humanity. Panama is truly a gift for the world. The country also has a rich culture. The official language of Panama is Spanish. Panama is a Catholic country and most holidays are religious. The currency is the US Dollar. Most meals are served with a side of rice to complement meat and vegetables. Visit Panama today. Take a tour of the Panama Canal that united the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans for the world.
