Yandere Type Types

There's a lot of different ways to categorize yanderes so I made this for myself for my headmates and myself to use to explain our experiences, but if it helps someone else that's cool too.

Includes yandere MBTI and uncommon yandere types but used more similarly to the yandere MBTI. Also has common yandere types. I also created a "yandere code" you could call it, so emojis can be paired with numbers to describe how strongly you experience that aspect of being yandere.

Red text indicates a link. Pink text indicates the shorthand name for the category, attribute, or type, etcetera. Blue text indicates emphasis or the most important words of a section.

In case it isn't obvious, I obviously don't condone bringing physical or mental harm to your darling, this is only so you can help feel understood by yourself and others, maybe even including your darling if you're very open with them. Remember to be safe and not to harm others.

YanCode and YanTI (YanMBTI) are my personal names for the Yandere categorizations featured in this post!

YANCODE

First we have the YanCode, made by myself. Several attributes and their descriptions are pulled from or based on the Yandere Wiki.

SICKNESS

The 🌡️ emoji is used to represent the sick attribute. Sickness refers to the deterioration of the yandere's mental health. Before meeting their darling would be considered 0, regardless of mental health situations, since it's specifically in regard to their darling.

LEWDNESS

The 💦 emoji is used to represent the lewd or sexual attribute. 0 would be having absolutely no lewd or sexual desires for their darling. 10 would be the most extreme sexual thoughts, to the degree that not acting them may become difficult.

BOLDNESS

The ✨ emoji is used to represent the bold attribute. Boldness is how much a yandere is willing to show affection towards their beloved and how willing they are to act crazy in public. 0 indicates no desire to let their darling know their feelings. 10 indicates the willingness to not only tell their darling but openly do crazy things for their darling with complete disregard for their image and the image of their darling.

COMMITEDNESS

The 💕 emoji is used to represent the committed attribute. Commitment is how much a yandere is faithful to their beloved and how much they are committed to putting their beloved's happiness over their own. Someone at 0 is not committed and will simply leave if not reciprocated. Someone at 1 would kill their darling if not reciprocated. 10 would do anything to get their darling to love them, even if it meant taking their own life, leaving for good, staying away, etc.

POSSESSIVENESS

The 📦 emoji is used to represent the possessive attribute. The possessive attribute indicates how much the yandere is willing to disregard the safety and happiness of both themself and their darling to separate their darling from others and keep them to oneself. 0 has no interest in owning their darling and can be considered lenient. 10 has a strong desire to own and control their darling and is willing to kill those who get in the way.

OBSESSIVENESS

The 📷 emoji is used to represent the obsessive attribute. 0 indicates a person who can go entire weeks without thinking of their darling, while 10 indicates someone who cannot go even a few minutes without their darling on their mind and have gone so far as to stalk their darling either in person or online in as many ways as possible. 10s often have a shrine to their darling.

DELUSION

The 🌀 emoji is used to represent the delusional attribute. 0 indicates no delusion, knowing that your darling loves you exactly how much they love you, even if that's not-at-all. 10 indicates delusion that your darling is in love with you when they are not or that your darling is not in love with you when they are, such as believing their confession was a lie.

RELATIONSHIP STATUS

The emojis to indicate relationship are as follows: The 🧿 emoji is used to represent the crushing stage. The 🖇️ emoji is used to represent the talking/flirting stage. The 🔗 emoji is used to represent the dating/qpr stage. The 🤝 emoji is used to represent the promised or engaged stage. The 💍 emoji is used to represent the eloped marriage or legally married. Someone between two stages can use the > symbol between both emojis, pointing in the direction you and your darling are going. For example, someone between engaged and married with their darling may use 🤝>💍 instead of simply 🤝 to indicate that perhaps their wedding is already mutually planned. If you have a specific goal, you can indicate it with the < symbol. For example, someone in the talking stage with their darling who wishes to become married in the future may use 🖇️<💍.

EXAMPLE

Numbers are placed after their emoji. To separate the sections, any separator can be used. We personally use " }" Example: 🌡️9 }💦10 }✨7 }💕8 }📦9 }📷10 }🌀8 }🤝

Yandere Type Indicator / Yandere MBTI

Next we have the Yandere Type Indicator (YanTI, YTI) or Yandere Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (YanMBTI, YMBTI). The original creator's amazing post can be found here and was created by ddarker-dreams about 4 years ago. I'm only hosting it here for archiving en masse with other yandere categorizers. I've altered some section descriptions to fit better with yandere's in the real world.

Example: CAMS would be a cruel, aware, manipulative, strict yandere.

CRUEL VS. REVERENT

This section indicates how a yandere treats their darling. C indicates CRUEL and R indicates REVERENT.

CRUEL yanderes are cruel to their darling specifically, as well as those around their darling and may regularly belittle their darling, threaten to hurt them, or even injure them physically. They may slander their darling and make fun of them. This can be with malintent or to be humorous. They may do this to manipulate their darling or for entertainment. The reasons can vary greatly but the most important factor is that, for whatever reason, they take interest in physically or emotionally damaging their darling. They may be a sadist as well, but this is not required, nor does their sadism have to be sexual.

REVERENT yanderes often worship their darling above all else and are very kind and gentle with them. In the case that they do hurt or upset their darling, it is not with the intent to hurt them, but rather usually an accident or side-effect of something that was meant to improve something for them and their darling. Sometimes they may hurt their darling physically or emotionally with the intent to do good or the belief that it's for their darling's benefit. They will usually try to make up for damage done to their darling as often as possible.

AWARE VS. DELUSIONAL

This section refers to a yandere's awareness of reality. A indicates AWARE and D indicates DELUSIONAL.

AWARE yanderes know their darling's true feelings and are able to acknowledge them, whether or not they desire to change them. They are able to differentiate between whether or not their darling loves them in return.

DELUSIONAL yanderes may or may not internally know their darling's true feelings and are unable to properly acknowledge, understand, or believe their darling's true feelings. They may reject the idea that their darling loves them back and accuse them of lying. They may reject the idea that their darling does not love them and insist that their darling is just shy about their feelings. Some delusional yanderes can have both experiences with their darling and some only experience one.

MANIPULATIVE VS. HONEST

This section refers to a yandere's willingness to manipulate their darling. M indicates MANIPULATIVE and H indicates HONEST.

MANIPULATIVE yanderes will attempt or desire to manipulate their darling to make them feel certain emotions, like love, fear, pleasure, or pain in otherwise inappropriate situations for it. They may abuse, injure, torture, and verbally assault their darling as well as gaslight them or just have a desire to so. They do not have nearly as many moral pitstops to prevent them from doing anything to get their way. They do not have to be good at manipulating to be a manipulative yandere, they only need to have the desire to manipulate and attempt to do so.

HONEST yanderes do not have a strong desire to manipulate their darling, though a desire may exist. Any desire to manipulate their darling's feelings or responses or behaviors is generally pushes away. They are very open and typically not forceful with their darling. They see no point in beating around the bush or lying. If they stalk you and you ask, they may admit to it, for example. If you ask how they feel about your friends, they will typically answer truthfully even if the answer could endanger your dynamic with them.

STRICT VS. LENIENT

This section refers to a yandere's expectations, needs, and desires from their darling, and how controlling they are overall. S indicates STRICT and L indicates LENIENT.

STRICT yanderes often desire to isolate and control their darling. They may desire to kidnap their darling or keep them at home, though this is not always present. Strict yanderes typically desire to have their darling solely to themself and are much more likely to hate their darling's friends, exes, and sometimes even family. They may also have excessive rules for their darling, such as eating only certain foods or only talking to specific people. This is often because the yandere in question has a personality disorder or traits of one, though this is not at all a requirement to be considered a strict yandere.

LENIENT yanderes have no desire to kidnap their darling or don't think about it often. They don't try to isolate their darling if any desire exists and they are often very confident in their relationship with their darling. They believe that they will end up together forever in the end and use that as a reason to be very relaxed about their rules and requests for their darling. More often than not, these yanderes either have no personality disorder or are being actively treated, which is also a result in the higher confidence and leniency compared to a strict yandere. They are very chill most of the time and are much less likely to hate their darling's friends, exes, and family, though they may still hate or dislike a number of people for harming or annoying their darling, for example. They still typically despise their darling's exes, believing they are broken up for a reason, especially if that ex mistreated their darling, but they do not believe that they will try or succeed in taking their darling, typically.
