An Open Letter To My Fellow Travelers
Dear fellow bloggers, It has come to my attention that I have been writing about places I have seen and posting pictures of beautiful architecture and views but I have never actually given you advice on what places are great to visit and what to do and what not to do. So, today I will being giving you advice on two countries I think you should visit and what to know before you go. First place on my list is Japan, if you are not allergic to seafood and love very cultured places then Japan is the place for you. Although, I have to warn you that there are some rules or things you should know before going to Japan. One, is that when entering a home, you take off you shoes and you will be given indoor slippers. Also, it is wise to get gifts for people you might be staying with and don’t forget to say “itadaki masu” before you eat and “gochiso sama deshita” when you are done eating. Japan is a beautiful country filled with amazing food, dances, historical sites, and my favorite thing is that the people there are the nicest people you will ever meet. The next place I will recommend you to visit is Italy. Italy is very different compared to Japan. People in Italy are not as nice as people in Japan but they are still amazing nonetheless. Food is also a very big deal in Italy, I suggest you try foods from the places they originated from to get better taste. Pizza originated in Naples and they have the best options, gelato in Florence is the best thing in the world, but be warned once you try their gelato, you won’t be able to eat ice-cream from anywhere else. Lastly, risotto from Lombardy is heaven sent. When traveling try to embrace the culture and cuisine in order to get the best experience.

A Word From This Week’s Guest: Brandee Hunter
To see a place you’ve never gone to and have only seen in pictures, or meet people that you would have never expected to interact with is something you can only find when you travel to a place other than home. I have been very fortunate and grateful for the opportunity to visit new places and experience new things, and I think that’s what helps me understand the world better. And yes, as Trinity has mentioned before, it’s not about whether you have money, or not, it’s about having a peace of mind and being ready to seek what’s outside your door, or simply for us, the island. I am constantly trying to challenge myself, and when I travel I get to push myself outside of my comfort zone and do exciting things like ride on a scary roller coaster, be in a tight cable car, go jaywalking through busy city traffic (I highly advise against this), or simply get lost. And whatever you adventure or wherever you go, it will open your mind & expand your perspective of the world. You’ll realize that there are actually millions of people who have opposite lives than yours and millions of places you haven’t seen and it will definitely broaden your worldview. So from my experience, I am telling you to go and travel as much as you can while the world is still alive/thriving. I know that in the future I will 100% try to travel and continue to explore the world as much as I can all while remembering to enjoy myself and have a peace of mind.

Me: They're all hella skinny though :(
Friend: Damn, nvm I'm too thick for Italian boys anyway

What Is My Purpose?
In light of recent events, I have realized how much I take things for granted. I once heard someone say we only miss things when it becomes a memory. It might become boring to hear me talk about the different places I have traveled to but in all honesty, I love talking about them, not to be a nuisance but because I genuinely love the experiences I had. Each place that I have been to whether it was just to Guam or to Italy, there are memories from those places I will forever keep. I have never been on a first class plane to the Bahamas or flew in helicopters over buildings, because that is not the kind of experience I am talking about. What I mean when I say I have traveled to different countries is that I stayed with host families and seen how the people actual live their lives. I have gone to gatherings where I met people from all over the globe. Going to different countries at a young age allowed me to see the world from a different perspective. So, when I say I travel for the experience, it is not because I have money to stay in five star hotels or dine in five star restaurants. My reason to travel is to see the world through the lives of the people who live there and allow myself to become more open-minded to the world in front of me. Do not get me wrong, I stayed in hotels and ate amazing food but I want to remind you that, that is not what traveling is all about.
