I really love that your art is digital with a collage aesthetic, I think it stands out a lot. Is there any particular way you plan out/get inspo for how you set up your illustrations this way?

thank u sm... usually it starts w a concept i have in mind, for example in this one the concept behind it was surgery x culinary arts, but it was also based on some sketches from my sketchbook:

then i go to find refs on pinterest or cool pics i took. the whole process is very spontaneous and i don't really sketch out what the whole composition would be like before rendering it.

i think the key to making it look harmonious is balancing the amount of detail on both sides and making sure the colours are balanced too... if u see my example i have red on the right side, and i've balanced that out with the chocolate box and smaller red details on the flowers and cross section of her face

i dont really like planning it out because i often find new cool things im inspired by, so i add elements bit by bit. if i feel a spot is too empty i think of related objects and find refs to draw from to fill the space, its a lot of moving things around:

i think this type of collage illustration lets u experiment a lot more, which is why i really enjoy doing them recently.
