My unplanned goal of the day was having my upcoming 6th graders realize that they have to get used to working in groups with people they don't like, realizing that even if you did all the work you can't just start pouting over it then refuse to work anymore, and being respectful to others who are presenting. Some got the lesson and some didn't.

I’m really starting to realize how much I’ll miss teaching 6th and 8th grade math.
Like I feel like crying almost over the thought of not solving for another system of equations problem.

I'm trying to develop some Black History spotlights for my school's announcements...
Can anyone give me any CURRENT figures in Black History that have done positive things that middle school students would be able to relate to?

My body and mind are in legitimate pain after what happened today...
I'm not sure if I can keep going on like this or if it's even healthy for me.
