Meet Miyamoto Eriana
Miyamoto, who was born to a Black American father and Japanese mother in Nagasaki, beat out 44 contestants to win a spot to represent Japan in the Miss Universe Pageant. She is the first ever Afro-Asian to represent Japan. “I thought, ‘I wonder if a hafu like me would be okay,’ and had insecurities,” Miyamoto said. “I think the world pageant will be a bit more vigorous, but I want to be myself and try my best.” She studied abroad in America and returned to Japan after graduating from college. Her hobbies include working with tools and motorcycles.

Today I fell in love with Thinking Out Loud x Ed Sheeran. Yeah, I know. I’m late.
I decided to listen to iHeart Radio during work today, picked a top hits station, and it came on. I had no idea who it was so in order to figure out the name and artist, I googled a lyric to the song. Bam! We have a winner!
Once home from the gym I hopped on iTunes and purchased the single. Pretty sweet ending to an otherwise shitty day. Thank you Ed Sheeran.
Oh yeah, I also purchased TPAB, Kendrick’s new album. Can’t wait to give that a listen also.

Malcolm X on Reading
My alma mater was books, a good library…. I could spend the rest of my life reading, just satisfying my curiosity.”
“Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.”
“People don’t realize how a man’s whole life can be changed by one book.”
“The ability to read awoke inside of me some long dormant craving to be mentally alive.”
