Not really a question, more of a thank you. I started reading your fics probably about a year or so ago now? I absolutely adore your writing - the entirety of it - the style, the content, the depth and the ingenuity in what you write (TDIP is simply masterful in the skills department!) and I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your talent! 😍 The fics drew me in and I fell in love. 🥰📝 I really appreciate that I've been able to not only read the wonderfulness that is your writing, but glean from it was well. i’ve had some short stories published (under my irl name) and i’m continuously working on original works as well. if and when i publish it probably won’t be in english though 😅

i've been a fan of your work for while now, and i just have to say, i absolutely adore your style of writing!!

i have to ask though, how do you get the courage to write about such taboo topics such as spanking and discipline? i used to write kpop discipline fics a few years ago, but i can't bring myself to reread them as they are very cringe and i was really just exploring my newfound interest. after having been a reader for quite a while now, i want to return to writing. but every time i sit down to type (if i can even get myself that far), i freeze up. what if it's horrible and cringy? i second guess myself on everything.

first off, i just want to say that feeling shame/awkwardness/embarrassment about posting spanking and discipline stuff is completely normal! i still feel vulnerable posting my fics, even after years of practice.

although i feel like kinkiness in general has become a lot less taboo over the last few years, non-sexual spanking and discipline for some reason still evoke quite strong and negative reactions from people. i think that some people don’t understand that it is still a kink, even though it’s not sexual.

i think what has helped me a lot to gain confidence in letting my freak flag fly is understanding my own identity as a spanko better. if that’s something you might also identify as, i’d highly recommend jillian keenan’s book sex with shakespeare. even though i don’t agree with her on all points, her book really helped me understand spanking as a kink/paraphilia. (she also has a youtube channel which i actually discovered long before reading her book last year, but she’s unfortunately had to take quite a lot of videos down from there - the channel is called kinking out loud if you want to look it up).

another thing that really helped me get over my fear of writing and publishing dfic was becoming a member of the writers of dfic discord server. while rpf or even the discussion of it is strictly NOT allowed on there (bummer), it’s a great community to meet and interact with other writers that have similar interests. the server also hosts the annual spanktember event, which i’ve attempted a few times. trying to write a spanking story every day also helps a lot with getting over that initial fear and embarrassment!
