Gideon is trying to protect him , just as Nico has been trying to protect Gideon. Sometimes Nico crosses a line , he knows that. Those wards - he should have informed Gideon about them but at the time , he'd believed he was doing the right thing and he still did. "It's me and you now. It's us. And Max. Obviously but...." IT'S YOU & ME NOW ; IT'S YOU AND ME FOREVER. Ride and die. They've always listened to each other. They've always trusted each other. Nico doesn't want that to change. He rakes a hand through his hair. SOMETIMES HE'S NOT EVEN SURE WHO HE IS - but Gideon has that surety. "Whatever happens , no matter what..." He steps closer , reaching for his hand and entwining their fingers together. "I'm always going to be here. Unless Rhodes kills me...but i think i'm growing on her , so we'll be alright." Nico doesn't do alone very well. Maybe it's because his entire childhood had been filled with loneliness. Because people came and went until he met the other. "I'm protecting my family. You're my family. So let me do this."
