No idea where in the world I added this photo to my album but isn’t it absolutely beautiful. To lay with this view today would brighten my soul.

Venice I can understand why people find you AMAZING but for me I was way to hungover after spending the night in the Irish Pub to even remember much about your beauty.

“It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves.” – Sir Edmund Hillary
I have been lucky enough to enjoy life on a mountain in a tiny village in Italy, I had a totally different outlook of life up on that mountain. When I look back at that time now I feel the beauty it brought but I also understand why I had so much trouble with my mind whilst there. I was so far away from my normal life and I didn’t settle in with the family I was with very well. Children have always liked me yet the little girl from this family didn’t like me and that hit me hard. Its okay for you to not have the perfect relationship with anyone know matter what age but it was just so odd for me. I still learnt a-lot from living with this family even if I was uncomfortable. The mum was absolutely amazing and she taught me many life lessons which are still extremely important to me today.
I wish that the information sat as bolt upright with me now as it did in the first year after travelling. I would like to aim to be back on track with my efforts to be as good with my eco warrirorness as i was back in 2018.

“Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow”
For quite a while I lived and worked on an Olive farm, over summer I picked hundreds of olives, and then in winter I became a full time au pair for 5 lovely trilingual children on the same farm. The views were stunning at the farm in Braccagni and it had a nice little bar up the road called the Red Barron where I would go and get hot chocolate and use the wifi to call my family and give them updates about how my week had gone.
I was staying in a little caravan over Christmas and decided that I would use a flying tiger magazine and some cardboard to give the caravan a festive vibe.

Rome! By all means, Rome. I will cherish my visit here in memory as long as I live.” AH
A lovely place, if you can deal with crowds of tourists. They sell really nice Gelato.

One of the most stunning pieces of art I have ever come across I would love to give the artist credit for this amazing piece of art but unfortunately they did not leave a signature. It is an absolutely stunning piece which I found whilst walking along a bridge in Bologna in Italy.

Trieste is an interesting place in Italy, maybe I miss understood it and it wasn't for me but I did get to have a little swim in the crazy waves and set my heart beat sky rocketing when something touched my foot in the depth of the cold sea.

“Don't count the days, make the days count”
Slovenia is a beautiful country and one I wish I had explored more although I did go to quite a few places thanks to my workaway family being really enthusiastic about their county I know it has more to offer than what I saw.
If I had the opportunity to explore even more of Slovenia ever again would because it is 100% amazing !

Dinning in the clouds on Velika Planina eating traditional Slovenian Carniolan Sausage with Sauerkraut .
This was definitely a very exciting day, I had never been up a mountain before or ridden a cable car and I had never eaten as high in the clouds outside before either so lots of things got ticked off on this day. I can't say I was a massive fan of the Slovenian Sausage or it’s sour cabbage accompaniment but it was a taste I will never forget.
You can go up this mountain a few different ways if you are in shape you can hike all the way up or you can get the cable car part way up and walk ( this is what I did as we were with a four year old), or it is even possible to get the cable car up and then get a chair lift the rest of the way. Whatever suits you best really.
The traditional shingle-roofed semicircular wooden huts are absolutely incredible and I was told by my Slovenian friend that they cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Velika Planina is a herders’ settlement and each summer the herders bring up their cattle too graze on the picturesk mountain.
I find mountains incredible the way that you can go so high above sea level and all of a sudden be freezing. It doesn't take a lot for me to get cold and I was at the top with several layers on whilst my friend who I was travelling with was in shorts and t-shirt.

A splash of colour to lighten your day.
Ljubljana Slovenias capital is a wonderful city. The greenest city I have ever stepped foot in. I was amazed whilst I was passing through one of the Street Markets one day that they had Marshalls showing you which bin to put your particular bit of street food rubbish in. As a girl that loves all things Eco I was in love with this cities efforts. The city has an excellent restriction on Car traffic in the centre which I just think is a fab idea. It gives way to so much freedom for pedestrians walking along the Ljubljanica River.
Ive had to add a photo of Abi Falafel because it was the most beautiful falafel I have ever had touch my lips. If you are in the city please make sure you visit this wonderful foodie. ( Link to the web page below)

"I think Nature's imagination is so much greater than man's, she's never gonna let us relax!"
How could you look at these photos and not want to have this view for yourself. Lake Bled is a beautiful popular tourist destination in Slovenia with an excellent view of mountains. It is one of them places where if you are lucky you can find a nice quiet area and just fully emerge yourself in nature. It is possible to go to that lovely little island you can see in the middle of the lake by boat. Im not sure what is on the island as I did not go myself but im sure it is just as lovely as the surrounding walk that you can do so if you have the time why not see everything you can.

“Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads”
One of the most incredible sights I have ever seen is located halfway between Croatias capital Zagreb and Zadar on the coast. This amazing national park is Plitvic Lakes it is absolutely incredible and undoubtedly a MUST SEE if you love all things nature.
I am aware that most travellers have a strict budget but please please use some of your precious pennies to get yourself to this UNESCO World Heritage site.

As I stumbled upon this installation I suddenly felt overwhelmed with emotion without even knowing what it was about. I took out my phone and searched ‘Budapest shoes along the river Danube’. I had no idea what information was going to come up but I didn't feel like it was going to be an installation of happy memories. I was right...
In 2005 Film Director Can Togay and sculpture Gyula Pauer erected this incredible art piece to pay tribute to the horrific events that took place along this river. In WW2 after Hitler overthrew the Hungarian government he put Ferenc Szalasi in-charge. This horrible man established the Arrow Cross Party who were involved in brutally terrorising Jewish PEOPLE in Budapest by beating and killing them. Victims were forced to remove shoes whilst being threatened at gun point along the river bank and made to face their executioner, they were then shot without mercy, falling into the depths of the cold, fast moving Danube river.  I was so disgusted when I found out how different life was for humans with the same view as myself just 73 years previous.
It is so sad to think of the horrible things that happen in our world. I don't understand why humans as a race have to be so cruel but I do believe we should learn as much about our horrible past to learn from it and to be able to try and prevent such disgusting things happening again.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
Bratislava, is an extremely underrated 18th century town.  I think in recent years it has increased in popularity as many people are realising it is a cheaper place to start your travels from. I only had a quick stop in Bratislava but really enjoyed having a walk around the gorgeous cobbled streets and really taking in the architecture.

Life takes many turns much like a river. You can go round the bend and not know what's coming next but water has memories and sometimes you need to accept your memories for what they are and either move on from them or move with them.
This is a view of Salzach River taken off a bridge that you can access from Burghausen (Germany) and when you cross it be in Österreich (Austria). I was amazed that just by walking for ten minutes I could walk into a whole other country !
I absolutely love Burghausen it is a gorgeous town with the worlds longest castle that is a beauty to see. It is definitely worth adding to your bucket list. You can get a really good view of this castle while taking a swim in lake Wöhrsee a lovely open air swimming pool.
I stayed in Burghausen on a lovely little farm with a Bavarian family and other Workawayers for two weeks and it was a fantastic experience. I tried my best to pick up some Bavarian words but the only word I came away remembering was oachkatzalschwoaf which translates to squirrel tail. The lovely owner of Theaterhoff-Priessenthal loved trying to get us English to pronounce the word. It was great fun. You should deffo check these guys out on Facebook and if they still have people staying and working it is 100% the place to be. As long as you enjoy working hard and really throwing yourself in to the community.

There are some places on earth that just allow you to lose yourself. One of these places for me was Scheveningen. After spending time in city's getting out into a little town was amazing. I finally felt like the air I was breathing in was fresh, not full of smoke from other people walking past me and poisoning my lungs with their bad habits . Growing up in a little sea side town it is always nice when you get to go and visit a new one. Scheveningen is very different from my home town however. It has a lighthouse for starters which was surrounded by crashing waves from the rough sea. Such emotion could be drawn from this landscape. The sand is also different it is not soft and comforting like I am used too but hard and sharp . As I walked along this sharp sand I thought about how, if I looked out into the sea I could let myself forget about everything and just relax. Take in the sea breeze. Truly enjoy. As the day began to end and the sun began to go down, the beach was transformed into an amazing orange paradise, so beautiful and calm. I could have watched it on repeat for eternity but I had to go and see sunsets in some more parts of the world. And so I carry on with my adventure.
