The hotel offers a choice of luxury Stone Town accommodations including Standard Rooms, Prime Rooms, or Suites. The rooms are constructed in the traditional Swahili manner with high ceilings, shuttered windows and cool white walls, while the size of the room is determined by the length of the mangrove poles that make up their ceilings. Each room comes with romantic, four-poster beds draped in mosquito netting, offset by delicate side tables, vanity units and shuttered doors leading onto private balconies, some of which feature massive free-standing hammocks. The presidential suite has a reception room with TV and private bar and spacious bedroom and bathroom. The hotel is ideally located in the spice isle’s historic Stone Town. 

The town is made up of a maze of winding lanes, ancient stone houses, Arabian arches, heavy carved wooden doors, circular towers, narrow latticed windows, overhanging balconies, and a fascinating selection of bazaars, curio shops, art galleries and spice troves. Historical sites include the Portuguese Fort, the Sultan’s Palace, the old Dhow Port, the Old Slave Market, the House of Wonders, and the Old Dispensary.
