We all know he never got much affection as a kid, much less emotional support

As much as you like showing affection, it’s going to take a while for him to get used to it

He flinches when you suddenly hold his hand or jump into him for a hug

At first you thought he was just surprised, but it still continued even when your touches were gentle

So you decided to ask him about it, communication right?

« I was never shown much affection » he admitted

Oh now that broke your heart

« Does it bother you when I do? »

« No I... like it... a lot actually but... »

« ...we can go at your pace, I don’t mind »

And so a few days later as you’re walking besides him towards class he holds your hand

Slowly he starts to initiate more, reaching out to hold your hand and once pecking you on the forehead after you passed a test you were particularly stressed from

It really continued as you moved into the dorms, he would come over to your room to study and vice versa, he would make soba for you both, he would lay his head of your shoulder, you were able to run your fingers through his hair

After seeing his father fight the Nomu he opted to go to you, you became his rock

He dragged you to your room, a place he became very fond of and laid down on your bed, holding your hands together

« Sho? »

« ..yes? »

« Do you want me to hold you..? »

Hé answered by crawling closer to you into your comforting arms and fell asleep

Cuddles are a must when he wants to rant about his family (ahem father)

You would occasionally sneak into his dorm when you had nightmares, him comforting you with cuddles and a peck on the forehead

When you or him needed comforting you squeeze each other’s hands to let the other know

He would bring you to a secluded part of the school or you would lead him into an empty part of the hallways or in an empty classroom

You never had problems communicating, whether it be verbally or not you both always found a way to communicate with each other

He doesn’t mind PDA, although he would like to keep your relationship on the down low

So you resort to holding hands occasionally, maybe even sneak a kiss here and there

(You might have been caught by the paparazzi once or twice)

However, behind closed doors is when you get all of the missing affection

He really like hugging you and wrapping his wings around you, it’s a way to keep you warm and safe

(He also might be a little possessive of you)

Hugging meant a lot to the both of you, the first time was a little after you both started dating

You had a hard time with keeping a couple of villains from wrecking everything in their path, almost dying multiple times

He comforted you and helped reassured yourself (and himself) that you were very much alive and in his arms by hugging him when you got back to your agency

He eventually opened up about his past about a year and a half into the relationship, this time you hugging him and telling him that he’s okay

Needless to say hugging is very important in the relationship

Pecking seemed to be important too

(Hes a bird)

He liked pecking you on your cheeks and nose a lot, but his favourite was when he pecked you on your lips

He would peck you in the morning to wake you up, when he leaves to put down a villain, when he’s sent on missions, when he’s excited and many other times

When he’s away he leaves a feather with you and you attach it to a string making it into a necklace (thanks Tiktok)

You would play with the feather when you’re bored or when you miss him on missions

He also liked giving you small gifts, mostly jewelry like earrings or necklaces

He wouldn’t want something back

When you’re really into the relationship for a long time he would let you touch his feathers, like help him clean them or straighten them up when he couldn’t reach them

Loves when you play with his hair too, he might coo

You’d think he wouldn’t mind showing PDA but how wrong you were

He would get flustered if you held his hand

Although it would go away after a brief period of time at the beginning of your relationship, you honestly didn’t want it to go away

You found it cute

He loved showing you affection, it would leave you flustered at times too

Especially kisses

Kisses on the forehead? Check

Kisses on the cheek? Check

On thé lips? A lot more than you can handle

He always somehow had a hand on you or an arm around you

You figured out a bit later in the relationship that he was insecure, he sometimes didn’t think he was enough so he opted to go above and beyond for you

You reassured him that just being next to you was enough, that all you needed was him besides you

That was when you had your first kiss

He also likes it when you sit on his lap

Mina dared you to plop down on his lap and much to your surprise it didn’t faded him at all, instead he wrapped an arm around you and kept talking to Kaminari and Sero

He loves training with you too, both keeping each other motivated by challenging each other all the time

« Dont fall behind or I might have to carry you! »

« I bet I could lift up heavier weights than you. »

Lowkey competitive with you, makes it all the more fun

You once got him a red shark plushie, saying it reminded you of him, it’s his most treasured thing he has now

You were surprised to find out that red wasn’t his natural hair colour, you found him in his dorm bathroom with bottles of red hair dye around him

It gave you an excuse to play with his hair whenever he dyed it
