The way so many trans people talk about trans-x/transid discourse is so,,, tell me you didn’t unlearn the transphobia you were taught without telling me

like you didn’t unlearn the concepts, you recontextualized the Terms. Truly unlearning transphobia is understanding that all aspects of identity are self-defined and flexible, not just going “wait a minute transgender good actually”

the way that people who are trans and huge trans activists will turn around, look at transid people, and go “why do you think [x] is some fun outfit you can take off and on, people that are REALLY [x] are actually suffering, shut up/die” like. how do you not hear yourself? How do you say that and not have flashbacks of cis people saying exactly that, word for word, about you and your transgender siblings

why is gender as an aspect of identity something that is flexible and self-defined, but nothing else is? Genuinely unpack that and hear yourself when you explain it.

I love self diagnosing and self-undiagnosing and coining of MUD (medically unrecognized disorders) like MOGAI labels I love treating both actual psychiatric and community labels like the deeply unserious and culturally biased stabs in the dark they are I love recentering neurodivergent people's narratives of their own internal experience and respecting labels for it that the establishment refuses to because doing so would grant us power and legitimacy and destabilize their hegemony I love singing and screaming about how it's all made up anyway and all social constructs built already sinking into the muddy mire of ableism so we might as well have fun with it I love people whose internal abled/disabled identity doesn't match their external body and who pursue what makes them happiest in the face of healthism and bullshit ideas of what health even is I love you

Y'all are the ones breaching the line of ableist opposition and fighting for true liberation and that is massively courageous and amazing but also y'all are amazing just for being you and doing these things (even aside from having to put up with the constant judgment and hate) and I love you all
