My girlfriend is an amab trans girl and she's told me that it's okay if I identify as an afab [and enby] trans girl, that my gender identity is up to me. I've been recently letting myself be feminine again because I was forced to be growing up and eventually I stayed away from being feminine until now. Is it okay?
i’m glad you sent me this ask because i felt something similar a while ago, and wasn’t brave enough to tell anyone. i completely understand feeling like an afab trans girl, it’s a natural result of feeling any sort of disconnection from womanhood. sometimes we can feel like we’re trans when we identify as our assigned gender at birth because we have to reclaim that gender. it is, in a way, a transition. you can identify however you want, but try to think hard about why you’d choose to identify as an afab trans girl. is it because you don’t wanna be cis? it it because you feel fundamentally different from other cis girls? like you experience womanhood in a different way than they do? maybe it’s not your label that you need to work on, but your relationship to your gender, yourself, and to womanhood. cis people can feel dysphoric, especially cis lesbians because they tend to feel like they’ve been exiled from traditional womanhood/femininity since it’s so centered around being attractive and submissive to men. personally, when i felt like this i realized that i had to fix my relationship with womanhood, and the idea of what it meant to be trans/cis. thank you for sending me this ask and please feel free to send another ask or a dm if you need anything else

today i was talking to my therapist about being upset that my dad wanted a daughter and she told me 'your father is crying by a grave of his own making that has no corpse in it. you do not need to fill it for him and are not required to weep beside him' and I had to take a sip of water bc my mind stopped working for a moment

Hi, Sorry if you're the wrong person to ask about this, I'm questioning my sexuality but I'm not sure, I kinda look up to you and your blog. Any idea on how to tell? ( I think I'm bi for reference )
detach urself from what u think u ‘should’ want. get rid of thinking things like “i can tolerate being with a man/woman/etc.” what are u actually attracted to? what do u want for real? forget “i could be with __.” if it’s real attraction, it wont feel forced at all and u couldn't ignore it if u tried. if there werent any labels or expectations or stigmas around anything, who would u daydream about? thats ur answer.

if you’re a young nb person on tumblr…
yes, you’re allowed to dress that way. yes, you’re allowed to use these pronouns. yes, you’re allowed to use that label and this label. yes, you can do that stereotypical thing. yes, you can choose that name. yes, you can do what works best for you. yes, it’s okay if you’re scared or unsure. yes, I promise you don’t actually need my permission (or anyone else’s) to do that. yes, it’ll be okay.

gentle reminder to all ace and aro peeps:
the majority of the lgbtq+ community sees you and accepts you as a part of the community and in queer spaces. i know seeing all the hate on here from within the community can be incredibly disheartening and exhausting, but aphobes are just a loud and angry minority, they are not the norm in actual queer spaces.
you are valid. you are loved. you belong.
