you know what i’ll say it. i think yellowjackets is a good show. people love picking it apart but i actually think it has stayed incredibly consistent with its central themes: complicity and groupthink. people were so mad at the way mari’s hunt played out because they expected this… abstract reveling in cannibalism and torture or whatever and now they feel cheated because the girls weren’t as wild as ‘promised’ but it was always going to be about the game of chess they were all playing. who has the influence who has the power how to secure your survival when it fully depends on a precarious hierarchy. i thought the shifting power dynamics were fun did no one else think that the shifting power dynamics were fun
