Personally I have trouble with the concept of deserving-ness not (is that even a word?) but I would definitely like Sinclair to win a big one with Canada.
My final thought: If there is any women’s soccer player on the planet that deserves to potentially end her career with a Gold or a Sliver (especially after two consecutive bronze medals in ‘12 and ‘16) it is absolutely and unequivocally Christine Sinclair.

AND ANOTHER THING! Let’s all appreciate that Christine Sinclair knew better than to take a pen against her Portland Thorns teammate and gave the kick to someone Franch was unfamiliar with.
Not looking forward to all the “Ashlyn would’ve had that” nonsense we’re going to hear about the Fleming penalty. It was a great shot and Franch damn near had it.

Oh please no.
How funny would it be if it were USA and AUS in the gold medal match and we had to watch a rematch of that horrid group game?

Aftermath: oof. What a roller coaster.
Alyssa Naeher has gone up in my estimation 10000000000(etc.)00000000%
I kinda need a drink but kiddo really wants to play. Wish me strength.

"We're having a very 'sword'-y day!" was another comment on the next few cards, but also The Magician and The Devil, so.
Just as it was clear that we were going to penalties my kiddo started playing with my Tarot deck and got Death.
IT ME.

That also would've been another Press offside, let's be real.

Pinoe also would have scored *that* two years ago. And she knows it. That's the really brutal part.

aaaaaaaaaaa two years ago Alex might have gotten that, five years ago she wouldn't have needed to because the U.S. would have had it sewn up over an hour ago
