Sagrada Familia Basilica (Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia), which is a unique design of Catalan architect Antony Gaudi is one of the most visited places in Barcelona and Spain by tourists. The church, which was interrupted due to wars from time to time, was opened for worship by is being blessed by the Pope in 2010. There are also those who foresee that the basilica will completely finish in 2026. This date is the 100th anniversary of Gaudi's death. The tomb of Gaudi is also found in this cathedral. There are a total of 18 towers in Sagrada Familia for the time being, some of which are completed and some will be completed in time. One of this towers represents Jesus, one represents Mary, four represent biblical writers and twelve represent apostles.
One of the most interesting aspects of the tower is that elements of natural life was embroidered on the walls of the basilica. Plant and animal motifs decorate the walls of basilica and add a different atmosphere to the basilica. The tallest tower of the building is 172 meters high. The cathedral was designed to accommodate ten thousand visitors. The most important feature of Sagrada Familia is; that the columns and walls are not as flat as in the typical understanding and include a visual, movement, motion.
