The subject of this passionate drawing series is Creedence Clearwater Revival, otherwise known as CCR. Despite being a world-famous band, I only got to know what the band members looked like in the past few years. I always thought the swamp rock vocals would be a man with a beard, but it turns out that the clean-cut man with mushroom hair is none other than the vocalist, John Fogerty. Their big hit, Have You Ever Seen the Rain?, was said to be about napalm bombs raining down from the sky during the Vietnam War, but this is a lie. In truth, despite the fact that many of the band's songs have been hits and they have become big stars, the song is about the discord between the band members and how it is raining on them. The band's name, Clearwater, comes from the fact that ecology was a concern among the band members. It means trust and the revival of clear water.

今回の夢中で描いてみたシリーズはCCRことCreedence Clearwater Revival。世界的に有名なバンドにも関わらず僕がメンバーの風貌を知ったのはここ数年のこと。スワンプ・ロック特有の泥臭いボーカルはきっとヒゲ面の男に違いないと思っていたけどマッシュルーム・ヘアのさっぱりした顔の男がボーカルのJohn Fogerty（ジョン・フォガティ）その人なのである。大ヒットしたHave You Ever Seen the Rain?（雨を見たかい）はベトナム戦争時の空から降り注ぐナパーム弾を歌ったものとされていたがこれは全くのウソである。真相はバンドの多くの曲がヒットして今や大スターになっているのにも関わらずメンバー間の不和で俺たちには雨が降っていると憂いた歌なのだ。バンド名のClearwater の由来はメンバーの間でエコロジーが関心ごとだったから。CCRとは信用と澄んだ水の再生という意味。 https://www.instagram.com/toru_fukuda/p/DITNVN6xtAJ/

The LP record of LOVE PSYCHEDELICO, which was released the other day, arrived! I'm happy that it has a greater presence as an object than I imagined. With the penetration of intangible music media, I can understand why vinyl record stores in Tokyo are so popular. dōmo arigatō misutā Robotto mata au hi made For some reason, I was fascinated by STYX's "Mr. Roboto" and decided to draw it. STYX is an American progressive rock band. They've been around for a long time, but with the huge success of "Mr. Roboto," they became something of a one-hit wonder.

なぜかSTYXの「Mr. Roboto」を夢中になって描いてみた。STYXはアメリカのプログレッシブ・ロック・バンド。活動の長いバンドだが「Mr. Roboto」の大ヒットで一発屋みたいな存在になってしまった。ロックの楽曲において日本語が混ざる例は少ない。John Lennonの「Aisumasen」やQueenの「Teo Torriatte」などがあるが「Mr. Roboto」のようにサビが丸ごと日本語なのは珍しい。その「Mr. Roboto」の造形は弥勒菩薩を模していて表情がアルカイック・スマイルであることなど仏像のセオリーを守っているところが面白い。僕が初めて耳にしたのは高校生のころ。その時はこの曲が架空のオペラ「Kilroy Was Here」の中の1曲であることなどつゆ知らず。 https://www.instagram.com/toru_fukuda/p/DIOggJCT45S/

The other day during the day, I felt like someone was looking at me from the window at my workplace, so I looked out and saw a dragon-like cloud in the sky.

先日の昼間、仕事場の窓先からなにか視線のようなものを感じるので見てみたら空に龍さんのような雲が。あまりにもカッチョよかったのでカメラに収めた。この雲の面白いところは長い角や髭、前足まであるところ。スピリチュアルなことはよくわからない。こういうのは人間の防衛本能であるシミュラクラとかパレイドリアという現象なのかもしれないけど単純に面白いから大好きだ。 https://note.com/torufukuda/n/n41a06e587b95?sub_rt=share_pw

I drew The Beatles from the album Hey Jude (original title: The Beatles Again). Hey Jude is an album of singles that were not included in the album, released in 1970. It is said that the cover design was chosen by mistake because the front and back photos were swapped, but I think they must have made some prototypes before the release, so it seems that the decision was made after looking at those. By the way, the photo session for this cover was two days after the photo shoot for the album Abbey Road, and it is interesting that the clothes of the three members other than John are very similar to those in Abbey Road.

アルバムHey JudeのThe Beatlesを描いてみた。Hey Judeは1970年にリリースされたアルバム未収録のシングル曲を集めたアルバム。カバーデザインは表と裏の写真が誤って入れ違いで採用されたと言われているがリリース前にいくつかのプロト・タイプを制作しているはずなのでそれをみての判断だったと思われる。ちなみにこのカバーのフォト・セッションはアルバムAbbey Roadの撮影2日後とのことでJohn以外の3人の服装がAbbey Roadのそれととてもよく似ている。 https://www.instagram.com/toru_fukuda/p/DIEPWC3z-Ff/

This time I drew my favorite artist, Carole King. The album Tapestry is a historic masterpiece with no bad songs. It's an album that can be listened to at any time of the year, and I often play Tapestry at my workplace. It's well known that James Taylor covered the song "You've Got a Friend" from this album and made it a worldwide hit.

R.I.P. "ICEMAN" In the past, Val Kilmer played Jim Morrison in the biopic of The Doors, and I remember being surprised at how similar he looked to the real person. In recent years, it's hard to tell how much of his appearance in Top Gun Maverick was a directing effect of his illness, which is a shame. He was still young. Rest in peace.

I drew the British rock band The Smiths. The band is characterized by the sweet and sad vocals of frontman Morrissey and the sharp guitar chord work of Johnny Marr. I think they were still active when I was in my 20s, but then they broke up.Recently, Johnny Marr announced the death of fellow bassist Andy Rourke on social media.

I drew this Led Zeppelin with great enthusiasm. When I first started listening to them, I was excited by the thrilling transition from "Heartbreaker" to "Living Loving Maid", but as I got older, I started to like the shady ethnic music of Kashmir.

3月20日にリニューアルオープンした吉祥寺の大好きなカレー店ピワンへ。場所は京王井之頭線の井之頭公園駅。南の改札出て目の前。周辺は緑も多く子どもたちの遊ぶ声が聞こえて最高だ。カレーはいつもの2種盛り。今日はホタテとチキン。いつもながら大変美味でした！なんとメニューには4種盛りもあり。末長く繁盛しますように。 https://piwang.jp/

Jellyfish is an American rock band. They have more fans in Japan and the UK than in their home country. They broke up after releasing only two albums. The characteristics of their music can be summed up as The Beatles + Queen. The way the guitar, bass and piano play powerful riffs in unison is just like Queen.
