“Let a sleeping dragon lie.” - Ft. Melody
Hearing her voice, Tal'um opened one of his eyes to see her beside him as she spoke.
"Aye, let him lie, and join him in his afternoon nap." He teased, moving a large leathery wing aside to make space for her. "The wind might be a little cool, but the sun always feels nice."

REASONS TO CARRY SOMEONE. ( A PROMPT LIST! )
listen, i'm back home now, i'm thinking about things, and i saw the maxton hall gifset floating around and i was like. yk what. carrying people is elite content, and gdi y'all deserve elite content! as always, DO NOT ADD OR EDIT THIS LIST! and there's a lil spicy addition under the readmore, but i left it there just in case people prefer to have a not-so-spicy version.
[ SLUMBER ]: sender picks up and carries the receiver because they're so sound asleep that they won't easily wake up.
[ INTERCEPT ]: sender picks up and carries the receiver out of the room because they're angry and on the brink of engaging in a fight with someone.
[ ASSIST ]: sender picks up and carries the receiver away for medical attention because they've been injured and can't walk easily.
[ HELP ]: sender picks up and carries the badly wounded receiver as fast as possible to the nearest hospital or the nearest place to administer urgent first-aid.
[ ELATION ]: sender scoops up the receiver and carries them away after a mutual victory, or having just received very good news (or maybe they're both just very happy for some reason!)
[ HOME ]: sender picks up the receiver to carry them over the threshold of their new home.
[ AID ]: sender finds the receiver too weak to move, and scoops them up to carry them to get some help.
[ UP ]: sender finds the receiver and picks them up to carry them a distance after learning they're unable to get up.
[ BAREFOOT ]: the sender picks up the receiver and carries them inside because they're not wearing any shoes.
[ WEARY ]: sender notices the receiver about to fall asleep during a task, and picks them up to carry them to bed so that they can actually sleep properly for once.
[ TWIRL ]: sender catches the receiver in their arms and spins them in a neat twirl just because they want to.
[ HERO ]: sender notices the receiver about to fall from a height, and manages to intervene just in time, catching them before they get hurt.
[ FLASH ]: the sender and receiver are part of a photoshoot, and in order to finish the last of the photos, the sender scoops up the receiver in their arms for the final pose.
[ TRAIN ]: during a training session (for a fight or a performance, dealer's choice!) the sender ends up holding the receiver in their arms during their session together.
[ URGENCY ]: sender carries the receiver away from danger after the receiver is revealed to be unable to move, either due to panic or injury.
[ OUT ]: sender grabs the receiver and lifts them into their arms after noticing them swaying and beginning to lose consciousness.
[ SCREAM ]: sender spots the receiver in a terrified or considerably panicked state, and picks them up to carry them to a less terrifying place to calm down.
[ LAZY ]: sender concedes to receiver's requests for a piggy-back ride home because they don't want to walk anymore, and carries them the rest of the distance home.
[ CAREFUL ]: sender gently lifts the receiver out of their seat and carries them carefully to bed after noticing they fell asleep and not wanting to waken them.
[ HASTE ]: in urgent need of getting to safety as fast as possible, the sender scoops up the receiver and starts running because it's quicker and easier to just carry them than expect them to keep pace.
[ FURTHER ]: sender, during an increasingly passionate make-out session with the receiver, suddenly takes them in their arms and carries them towards the bedroom to continue their evening in private.

Distance is said to make the heart grow fonder. What they don't tell you is that it's also a total pain in the ass too, especially when you're longing to see them each and every day. But somehow he managed to persevere through it all, and was at last rewarded with the sight of his beloved.
He instinctively reached toward her as she stumbled over herself, but was quickly outpaced by the woman as she sprinted and dashed right at him.
"Ack! Waitwaitwaitwai-!" Was all he could get out before she plowed right into him, nearly sending him flying on his arse in the process. Even with the weight he lost while travelling, he was still just heavy enough to withstand such a mighty blow!
"Oooof....glad to see you too, Melody~" He purred, his long arms gently wrapping around her body.
@tornscale
Parting is such sweet Sorrow.
The saying had its merits, its truths. Knowing that they were to be parted for some time absolutely destroyed her. Each day without him brought a new kind of wound that no healing magicks could mend. Leaving an ache in her chest, and making her long to see him.
That was where the sweetness resided - the sheer, overwhelming joy when she laid eyes on him again. Without a single word, Melody turned on her heel - damn near tripping over herself - and sprinted in his direction.
"Tal..!" His name, called with such desperation and reverence, belted out of her as her small frame launched itself at him. Maybe with enough force to knock him over, should she have been any bigger than she was. It didn't matter. She'd be in his arms again and all would be well in the world once more.
#{Tal'um Dorminia}#both is good!! :D glad to be back!#I havent gotten Tal's new icons ready yet but i'll try to get them done soon enough lol

Hey everyone, how's it been?
Sooooo it's been almost a year since i last wrote anything decent on here, but it's also been a hell of a shitshow this year too. With work being stressful, cars getting broken into, losing my health insurance, REGAINING said insurance, and trying to find new work while also dealing with family deaths, it's been a wild ride of a 2024 for me. All of this and the low activity I already had kinda made me lose all interest for this hobby in exchange for trying to keep things going as smoothly as they can be, so there's that.
I've been trying to keep myself busy, and ironically only now before the holidays start creeping in do things finally start to ease up and smooth out for me.
So since I finally start to see some free time opening back up for me, I'll be trying to get back into the swing of things here again. Needless to say all old threads are pretty much dropped, but I'm more than open to doing new things again! And I may change a few things with the dragons and their lore, but for the most part their overall stories are gonna be the same as before cause if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Anyhow this is already going on pretty long, so I'll just leave you all with a good night, well wishes, and I hope to talk to some of you all again really soon. Until then, stay safe and warm, and get yourself a nice cup of tea to cozy up in place of dragonsfire.
#ooc#maaaaaan i havent written shit in so long on here#i almost forgot my information here too lmao#but yeah it's been a time#hope you're all doing better than I have lol

Some Tips for writing internal conflict
Wanting Two Things at Once Imagine your character really wants to chase after something big, like a dream school, a major opportunity, or maybe even moving to a new city. But at the same time, they’re terrified of leaving behind everything they’ve ever known. Or maybe they’re in a relationship that’s holding them back, but they can’t bring themselves to let go. Show them getting pulled in two directions, torn between their ambition and their fear of losing the people or places that ground them.
Right vs. Wrong Sometimes, your character will know deep down what the right choice is, but it’s the most difficult one to make. Like, maybe they see someone getting bullied and know they should stand up, but doing so could make them a target. Or maybe they have to decide between helping a friend and doing something that could ruin their own future. These moral dilemmas create intense internal conflict because it forces them to question who they are and what they stand for.
Doubting Themselves We all have moments where we wonder if we’re enough, smart enough, strong enough, brave enough. Let your character wrestle with that same doubt. Maybe they’re the kid who has always been told they’re special, but now they’re in a place where everyone is just as good, and they start to wonder if they even belong. Or maybe they’ve been through something tough, and they’re not sure if they can bounce back. These moments of insecurity make your character feel human, like they’re trying to figure it all out, just like everyone else.
Dreams vs. Fears Show your character dreaming big but getting frozen by their own fears. It’s like wanting to ask someone out but being terrified of rejection, or wanting to move away for college but being scared to leave home. Let them imagine all the things that could go wrong , that moment when fear makes them doubt if they should even try. But also show their desire burning just as strong, making it impossible to ignore. That’s the heart of internal conflict: they’re stuck between wanting something so bad and being afraid of what it’ll cost to go after it.
Beliefs Being Challenged As your character grows, the world will start challenging their beliefs. Maybe they grew up in a family that drilled certain values into them, and now they’re meeting people who see things differently. Or maybe they’re experiencing something new, and it’s changing their perspective. It’s like when you think you have everything figured out, and then life throws something at you that makes you go, "Wait, maybe I’ve been wrong this whole time." This kind of internal conflict is powerful because it forces the character to question who they’ve always been.
Keeping Secrets If your character is hiding something, like a mistake they made, feelings they’re afraid to admit, or a truth they don’t want to face, that secret becomes a huge part of their internal conflict. The fear of being found out or of dealing with the consequences can create a constant pressure in their mind. Maybe they’re scared they’ll lose their friends if the truth comes out, or maybe they’re dealing with guilt they can’t shake. The tension comes from their battle to keep it hidden while knowing they can’t keep it locked away forever.
Pressure from Everyone Your character might feel like they’re trapped between what they want for themselves and what everyone else wants from them. It could be pressure from parents, who have their whole future planned out, or pressure from friends to fit in or follow the crowd. Maybe your character wants to be true to themselves, but they’re scared of disappointing people or standing out too much. This kind of internal conflict is super relatable because, at some point, everyone feels like they’re stuck between living for themselves and living for others.
Fear of Failing Sometimes the biggest obstacle isn’t the external challenge but the internal fear of failure. Your character might have big dreams, but they’re paralyzed by the thought of messing up. Whether it’s competing in a sport, performing on stage, or just trying something new, the fear of not being good enough can be overwhelming. Maybe they’re afraid that if they fail, everyone will see them differently, or worse, that they’ll see themselves differently. The internal conflict comes from their desire to succeed battling against their crippling fear of failure.

Has Tal ever captured a damsel before? Any spicy stories with them?
He never actively goes out and 'hunts' for damsels to kidnap like mortals would like to believe, but rather seems to somehow end up with them coming to him on their own!
Most, if not all, of his relations are usually mutual or hesitantly one-sided (him being hesitant and stupid wary).
As for spicy stories, he has quite a few of his own. But whether or not he'd share them is another thing entirely~

💙 Aftercare - How important to them is it? What kind of aftercare would they get the most gratification from, if any?
Aftercare is a really big deal for Tal'um! While he can be quite dominating and very clear on what he wants, if he doesn't get aftercare or some sort of cuddling afterwards it'll leave a bad taste in his mouth.
Cuddling is the best bet, but he's also not averse to just talking or kissing either.
