let me just say-- i am incredibly proud of how the boys handled the onslaught of liam's passing.

those 4 boys have some of the most famous faces in this world, most especially after oct 16. for sure, paps were searching for them every-fucking-where to be the first ones to catch a glimpse of their grief-stricken faces to make a quick buck. BUT those boys did EVERYTHING to stay out of the spotlight. yes, we had some pap pics of niall walking his dog (fuck the paps fr) and fan pics with niall in an art gallery but OTHER THAN THAT!?!?!?!? NOTHING?!?!?! that's almost incomprehensible for the level of fame they have.

even at the funeral, they never gave the paps the satisfaction of a pic of all of them together. in the moment where they deserve, more than anything, to be together, they set that aside to make sure that liam's funeral remains HIS, a celebration of his wonderful life.

in my heart of hearts, i really believe they came together to ensure that (1) the paps didnt get what they want, (2) that liam's life and legacy is celebrated exactly the way he deserved, and (3) that they each be able to mourn and move forward in their own way and time.

so, so, so proud. well done boys. we all see you. we are so fucking proud of you.

Seeing every one of the little details about the funeral, from the boys and other celebrities not shying away from the camera due to the deal regarding Bear, to the flowers commemorating Liam's love of bowling, have been sweet and amazing.

But what broke me was seeing the Batman decals. All of the cars the boys showed up in had Batman decals on the back as a final send off for Liam and his love of Batman. Even Geoff had his own Batman cuff links to commemorate Liam's love.

The human details, things that remind us that this Liam, someone we love and care for and support as a celebrity, was also a person. One with interests and loves and those who cared for him and his memory no matter what. Fly High Liam, we will miss you always.

I know now is not the time but I can't help how I feel. I just don't get why the boys wouldn't put on a united front at the funeral. This might be the last time they are ever together and it's a gd funeral and still certain narratives are being pushed. I will never understand.

My love, I really don’t think anyone is “putting on a front” so much as not giving the paparazzi fodder to make the funeral about the four of them. It’s bad enough they’re allowed to take photos of them at all. Why do we need to see them putting on a “united front?” The fact that all four of them are there and all arrived within five minutes of each other says enough. Today is about Liam. I’m sure the four of them are connecting in private. We aren’t entitled to that reconnection or that moment of bonding. They’re allowed to keep that for themselves.

I've always thought the hate narrative is ridiculous, but it's just horrible considering what happened to Liam. Like that's seriously what those people are focusing on? Even if there was any hate before this (which I don't think there was), I think Liam's death would've thawed all of that. As you say, they all arrived so close together, and because of that I honestly think their teams must've communicated. I don't think it's just a coincidence. It was also lovely to see Louis and Zayn together as tragic as the circumstances.

People are reacting to this funeral as if it’s an episode of some TV show. The comments about what they’re wearing, or who hates who, or making fun of fans because we didn’t get a particular photo, or being angry about who drove with whom is honestly disgusting. I’ve never seen so many people lacking absolutely all empathy.

These are real people who lost someone they loved in a really fucking tragic way. Their grief isn’t for your entertainment. Some of you really need to get off of the internet and have face to face interactions and learn how to treat people.
