teenage lovino after helping slaughter 3,000+ frenchmen in the sicilian rebellion against the angevin king, which started on easter monday in 1282. the rebellion was successful and brought the aragon king frederick iii to power (as opposed to the french angevins) thus solidifying spanish influence in the region (but hey at least they challenged the papacy)

This scene was really touching, and it immediately made its way onto the deepest parts of my heart and soul… I knew I just had to draw it.

I hope I made justice to the strong feelings the scene has…

Imagine when that day came, I bet 200% it would go with Romano holding a basket of tomatoes instead of wedding flower and Spain gently placing a tomato-shaped diamond ring on Romano’s finger instead of a real diamond one and the guests will be crammed up with a menu full of tomato-based dishes in the restaurant after the wedding...
