alex knows he said he was going to put effort into getting to know tomas, he knows this…– but he didn’t think he would actually have to follow through with what he said. he meant he’ll say ‘hello’ if they were ever at the same event, or something like that. but his love for emilia overpowered his (unnecessary?) hatred towards tomas – did it start with him fake dating wilhelmina? or when he realized he was hurting emilia? – and alas, he couldn’t say no when emilia texted alex and told him to come out with her and tomas for drinks. however, his love for emilia turned into hatred for a mere second when a text from her read ‘sorry! i have to cancel last minute. i swear it’s an emergency. love you!’. alex would have been relieved, if it wasn’t for the fact that he’d already made eye contact with tomas across the bar. reluctantly and with a roll of his eyes, alex dragged his way up towards him. “so i’m assuming you just received the same text from emilia?” he asks, taking a seat across from his. 

to   say   the   pair   had   started   off   on   the   wrong   foot   would   be   quite   the   understatement   and   if   anything   ,   tomas   feels   he   is   completely   in   the   right   ,   even   though   he   cannot   justify   the   insecure   feeling   at   the   pit   of   his   stomach   every   time   emilia   hangs   out   with   alex   .   it   doesn’t   even   occur   to   him   that   fake   dating   wilhelmina   would   prove   to   affect   the   man   he’s   about   to   face   and   so   all   tomas   can   think   about   is   the   circumstance   under   which   alex   and   emilia   became   so   close   in   the   first   place   .   he’s   well   aware   has   no   right   to   be   possessive   ,   hence   his   agreement   to   spend   the   least   bit   of   time   with   the   very   person   he   wishes   to   avoid   ,   over   a   round   of   drinks   and   under   their   friend’s   superivison   .   the   moment   ,   however   ,   he   receives   the   hard   hitting   text   ,   eyes   widen   in   shock   before   they   fall   on   an   all   too   familiar   figure   approaching   him   .   ‘   yeah   ,   i   did   receive   the   same   text   .   ’   the   scoff   falls   from   his   lips   involuntarily   and   for   a   second   ,   the   prospect   of   fleeing   the   scene   doesn’t   look   half   as   bad   .   ‘   guess   it’s   just   the   two   of   us   tonight   ,   huh   ?   ’   tomas   sighs   ,   fingers   shooting   up   to   call   for   the   waiter   .
