But have you thought about it? Have you really thought about it?

Have you thought about how Blackquill, a young man who decided to sacrifice his life for the sake of his mentor’s daughter, who sealed off all his emotions, who literally cried so much in prison, he has permanent tear marks on his face (proof below, courtesy of /u/MrBohobe), must have reacted when he was told he was being given a living companion?

And not just a companion. A bird. And we all know how much he loves birds, not just from the official art (POLLY) but the way he talks about the penguins at the aquarium (courtesy of the AA wiki).

This is a man who had resigned himself to having nothing. So when he was given something to raise, to care for, to love… God. It must have been the first glimmer of hope and happiness he had felt in years.
