do you ever get worried that your pcs design and dynamics come off like a 2016 sans fangirl mary sue kind of character

Never! I don't care if my characters are not original, as long it bring me joy to draw them. Everything is original as long as it's not traced or generated with AI.

There's nothing to stop you developing your characters over the years. The character on the top right; I created her 14 years ago. Maybe they were Mary Sue in the beginning. But little by little, I gave them personalities, fears, desires and dreams. To build a whole person. As for the designs, I think less is more. My OC in the top left is a woman with black hair and black eyes, there's nothing original and there's nothing wrong with that (very old art btw) But I don't think it's bad to create a Mary Sue kind of character, as long as the artist is happy 🤷‍♀️ So no pressure, just have fun!
