i love this scene because even despite their differences - shit, tyrell literally quotes trump verbatim - robot ultimately cares for tyrell. at first, he uses tyrell's madness against him, but by this scene, he wants tyrell to snap out of it.

sam esmail wrote the show backwards, so scenes like the s2 finale and 5/9 hack were most likely already written too. we don't know that for sure but perhaps sam esmail leaned into the queerness because it made a lot of sense? either way tyrells love for both elliot and robot is weaved into canon, and if you can't handle one-sided dynamics go and ship nick and charlie from heartstopper or something

when i look at tweets from 4-5 years ago i just sigh, no, you were never gonna have tyrelliot that's got to be next level delusion if you ever thought they were gonna be happy by the end of the show

they're also not a queerbait though, to the people arguing that. there's a difference between a ship designed to be entirely one sided, and sam esmail has said that tyrell loves elliot. queerbaiting always has the sexual/romantic tension without the showrunners backing it. tyrelliot has always been canon, just one sided. the same for tyrobot

not every romance has to end in happiness, or closure. that's not how these dynamics work in real life, so why do you expect that from a show?

this is the desired level of delusion when it comes to tyrobot

when Elliot yells “no!” in response to Tyrell asking “did you ever care about me?” you can see Mr Robot’s mouth open at the same time as if answer “yes” and I feel crazy about it like… you really see they’re two separate people. Mr Robot wants to stay. Elliot wants to go. One of them is utterly apathetic to Tyrell. The other might be in love.
