DIGITAL CREATION VS. GLOBALIZATION

This years's Electrolobby - in accordance with the overall theme of Ars Electronica - will look at the latest developments in digital culture with a strong focus on globalization. How does globalization affect creation in the digital world? What new strategic experiments are taking place in the heat of social, economic and cultural stan- dardization - and the growing unease with it? 

How do Generations X, Y, and Z deal with the challenges, conflicts, and opportunities of an increasingly interwoven domain of activity? How do their local identities merge with the global scope of digital culture? How does the energy released by the collision of competing world- visions and cultural identities shake out in the electronic culture of the early 00s? 

With these questions as starting point, the Electrolobby tracks down the latest mutations of advanced digital culture - presenting the visions of young digital creators for whom cultural diversity is one of the most valuable assets, and one of their strongest sources of inspiration.

Some prints I made from screenshots of the Dreamcast version of Jet Set Radio and old worksheets I had laying around. The Inkjet printer was a little busted, but I think the lines make it look even more interesting! JSR is and will always be my favourite game

we are not after truths. we are after the image of truths. we are safer in the image of the image of truths. what we know is forgettable and what we don’t know we live our lives scared to forget. we are in a place between forgettable knowledge and forfeited knowledge. no door of any width, no squeeze of any heart will free us. once we are gone once we are no more less than we were. from nothing to never silence shame. we see only the image of wounds, and the image of the image of unforgiving fathers, slow-dying in firelight.
