(pre-Shadowbringers. I’m not sure what will change there.)

So, it has come to my attention on occasion that maybe not everyone knows about– or doesn’t think to use–a certain tool at their disposal. Especially after coming out of a raid where I watched two AST healers in our party struggle to maintain MP, coming at quite a cost to our HP bars! So, as a fellow AST, I thought I’d spread a helpful little tidbit about combo-ing your abilities! 

Meet your new, (or old), friend:

And let me just -AHEM- bring attention to this bit:

“But I KNOW about that ability!” you might say. And I wouldn’t doubt it. For the early parts of my time healing as an AST, I used it myself as well plenty, but only really to increase the duration on a nice spread of cards I managed to get for my party. 

However, did you know how life-saving (eh-heh) this can be when utilized for YOU the healer in particular?

Using Celestial Opposition AFTER casting Lucid Dreaming will give you a whole 10 extra seconds of MANA REGEN. This makes a huuuuuge difference! 

What’s that? Your alliance is taking bazillions of damages and you can’t pump out enough heals fast enough? YOUR CO-HEALER IS DEAD, YOU SAY?!

BOOOM. Now you be insta-casting Helios and Aspected Helios or Benefics, you name it, for 20 SECONDS! Takin’ names and savin’ ass. (well, okay, more like 18 seconds after the animation finishes, but.) And of course, as with Lightspeed, ALL at reduced MP-costs. Giving you that extra boost while Lucid Dreaming is just tick-tickin’ away and recharging your thirsty mana pool. 

And if you take the latter combo, do NOT underestimate the regen on Collective Unconsciousness. I did for FAR TOO LONG. Even if you just put it up for a TICK around your party, not even utilizing the shield, the hp regen is nothing to scoff at. And hey, guess what, that can be extended 10 seconds as well with Celestial Oppoosition!

IT’S AMAAAAZING. BURST THOSE STAR POCKETS YOU BEAUTIFULS. 

But yeah. It’s pretty much ALL your beneficial effects! Even doopid-ol’ Cleric Stance can be extended! Just wanted to spread the word to possibly present and future interested ASTs out there!

And hey, if you already knew this–let your fellow AST healers know! It changes liiiiives! Pixel lives.
