You've all been like family to me and it's really sad to see everyone go and move on. So thanks peeps. I'm really glad I got to bond over Disney with you c:

Koda laughed when he seen the final expression on the girls face. She didn't listen to him and he knew it. He knew it before hand too considering the things he was chatting about didn't make a lick of sense. He started off the story by telling her about a parrot who was possessed by a demon and ended it with how it thought the cow to eat chocolate chip cookies. It was unfortunate because he also complimented her on how her hair was already 'pretty sweet' and she didn't need to dye it. Oh well, what can you do?
"Oh." He motioned. "We turn left right here. Almost missed it." He laughed as he walked down the small road. He looked over at the teen beside him. He would admit going out on a fishing trip with a girl who had a boyfriend was a bit weird, especially because he wasn't there with them. Although it wasn't like they were going to do anything, Gadget was his friend for a while, before her and Louie were even dating, so it shouldn't be a problem.
"So hows life treating you? I feel like we haven't talked forever." Koda asked, trying to fill the short termed, out of character silence and get the girl talking again. They were almost at the fishing hole now, it was about fifteen minutes walking time. Koda honestly couldn't wait to start catching those naive little trout.

Koda let out a laugh that sounded a bit unsure. "Yeah, I guess I can. No use in just not telling you. I did come here to talk about it, y'know? I don't even remember how I started talking about it. And-" The teen stopped mid sentence. He was procrastinating and he knew it. With a small sigh, he shock off the jitterbugs and just went for it. He didn't dare look Wendy in the eyes. Instead he kept them focused on his hands in his lap. As much as Koda loved sharing his adventures and tales, he has only ever told two people this story. His uncle Tug and his stuffed teddy bear. He couldn't promise what emotions would come out while he told the story. He was nervous. Nervous that he'd make a fool of himself and start blubbering like a baby in front of a girl he hardly even knew. He took another breath and began shakily.
"Me and my mom, well, we were always close. As close as a mother and son could be. She'd take me fishing all the time, it was like a tradition. She'd wake me up at 5 in the morning the day we were going and I'd actually get up without the fuss," Koda chuckled very lightly at the memory, trying to hide the sadness it brought. "She tell me to 'get up sunshine. We wait any longer the fish'll eat your whole rod.' Uh, When we'd get there I'd always catch the biggest fish, if we even caught any that is. I'm pretty sure my mom would get bigger ones and let them go when I wasn't looking or switch them for the one I had. She was good like that. Always made me feel like I could do anything.
" We ate berries too. We found them, picked them. A bunch of wild blueberries grew around the fishing hole. Some strawberries too. We always picked them and ate them right away. Didn't even bother washing them off. When we got into the car and packed everything up, she'd let me go into the front seat on that road, even if I was young. It was only on the back road with nobody else there. I'd always fall asleep on the drive back. Every single time. And too be honest, there was no where else I'd rather be." Koda's speech faltered. He cleared his throat trying to cover it up. He continued on talking. He wasn't getting to the point of anything, but he felt that rambling helped. Especially since he's finally breaking down the walls of his past with his mother. Not even his closest relationships knew about this.
"I loved her. I really did. She's done so fucking much for me. D-Dad left when I was born. Before actually, it was when my mom got pregnant. He just kind of went away. Why? I couldn't tell you exactly but it sure as hell had something to do with me. I mean, he left, like, when he found out. About me. Being, y'know, in the belly. And I-I just... Ugh." He punched the ground. It wasn't very hard, but it showed his anger towards his father. He threw his head back to lean against the uncomfortable bark of the tree. He looked up into the mangled branches, still not making eye contact. "She filled in both positions. I actually don't even consider that jerk to be my father. It's only me and mom. It only ever was. Until. Well. Until." He was moving his hands trying to get the words out, trying to admit to himself once again what had happened. Even just talking about the old times they spent together made him feel uneasy.
"I was 10 at-at the time." Koda started, his voice giving out. His eyes were tearing up. "We were driving home from my school, our class had a play or something I don't know, and we were perfectly fine. She was watching the road, I was in the back seat, rambling probably, and everything was just normal. But then, out of nowhere, this-this-this stupid truck just plowed us! We ended up off the road. All I can remember was lights and glass and screaming and darkness and I woke up in the hospital. I-I was screaming again and I didn't understand what was going on. I had no idea. It was so... The doctors told me a drunk driver had hit us. He hit us. Why? I-I don't understand why? She did everything for me. She, as cheesy as it sounds, was my everything. And that dumbass driver killed her! As innocent as we were. His stupid mistake killed her. It wasn't even her fault. She's-she's gone. I'm alone. And... And..." He stopped. He couldn't go on. He remembered when they first told him the news about his mother dying on impact. He yelled, he cried, and told them they were wrong. Tried to convince them they were all wrong. He tried to run away, but they stopped him. He couldn't get away.
Koda shook his head and shifted it to rest in his hands. He wasn't going to cry in front of her. He couldn't. He sighed deeply. He lifted his head, rubbed his eyes and finally glanced at her to see a reaction. Braced himself for the worse.

Hm. Summer program? It'd make sense to go. I was just complaining about needed a new hobby. But what would I be doing? Like actual hard questions or 'who took the cookies from the cookie jar' shit? And if there`s any little kids running around. And if I should be asking the chief about this and not you? Questions, questions.
I know it's called 'Wasteland'
So… A personal detective? That sounds awesome! I mean, it’d never get boring. Different case every time, new clues, new leads, the rush of getting the guilty person. I’ve played ‘Clue’ before, but that doesn’t come close. Besides I kind of sucked at it…. So It counts even less. You must be some good at your job.

Hey, um, sir? I think we all need to calm down. The future isn't doomed because of violencey teenagers. I mean, meteors and hurricanes and shit are more likely to doom the world then us. Plus, you have the kids like me who only use it against tiny digital men and mosquitoes. Although... You have the kids who aren't like me, but let's not think about those ones. Okay?
Socially awkward...
Remotely safe? Like, violence….. But on a T.V.? It’s remotely safe because you use a remote to turn on the T.V.. Get it? Get it?

Koda chuckled at the girls reaction. If he was being completely honest, it was his complete intention to sneak up on the other teen. He couldn't help it, she set him up perfectly. He kept one hand in the pocket of his old navy blue sweatshirt and held up the other in defense.
"A little jumpy there Wendy." He teased her gently. It was in Koda's nature to joke. The playfulness and sarcasm just poured out without any warning or stopping. Mostly without stopping. Koda also had a reputation to talk a lot. "Come on, let's sit down somewhere. Unless you're scared of a spider falling down on miss muffet's head." He nudged her with his elbow over to a tree. "I'm just kidding." He clarified a bit after.
He felt he should tell Wendy he was joking. He could never read the girls thoughts and he didn't want her to actually think he hung around her to make fun of her. It may have sounded like a false reassurance, but he meant it. Although it didn't help he was giggling like a man while saying it.
He made his way over to the tree and slid down the scratchy, bumpy bark of the old oak. His butt hit the ground with a thump. He pat the ground next to himself, motioning for her to sit down next to him. He was about to say something, but shut his mouth quickly knowing it'd be about what Wendy and a certain ginger would have done in a tree. Y'know that childish song you used to sing when you were younger. You're lying if you say you haven't sung it.
Letting Our Secrets Out/Para/Koda&Wendy
Wendy arrived at Bay Lake Park just a few minutes before 7 PM, and got off of her bike. It wasn’t exactly anywhere near night yet; the sun was still shining brightly. However, the birds were leaving and it was starting to get cold, which was usually not a good thing.
There were massive piles of grass in different spots all over the park, probably left behind by a lawnmower, and the trees were clumped together in very odd places. Mother nature’s way of being different, she guessed.
She looked around the park, trying to see if Koda had arrived too. Sadly, he was nowhere to be found yet, and she began to wonder if he really was coming.. She had a lot to talk about, and she’s sure he did too.
For Wendy, it wasn’t very often that she got to hang out with friends. It was either too late (which scared her, because she was afraid someone would kidnap her [Silly, yes]), or there was no one to talk with (which was usually the case.) And she was glad that tonight she’d be talking to someone.
Suddenly, Wendy heard someone behind her. She whirled around in fright, and her bike fell right there. “Koda?"

Well a good part of what I do is indoors, but otherwise I tend to do a lot of running from place to place, where ever my work takes me. I do occasionally read and research is mostly for work only. We’ll school can be boring, but it has it’s usefulness at times.
As for what i do, I am a consulting detective over at the station and I tend to either work from home, the station or I just don’t stop running around from place to place, that’s probably why you don’t see me. Although I do once in a while stop over at the park to clear my mind.
So... A personal detective? That sounds awesome! I mean, it'd never get boring. Different case every time, new clues, new leads, the rush of getting the guilty person. I've played 'Clue' before, but that doesn't come close. Besides I kind of sucked at it.... So It counts even less. You must be some good at your job.

Yeah, that pretty much says it all about me… But if anyone wants to chill or do something remotely safe, I’m up for it?

You more of a indoors type? Reading and research and stuff? I've tried reading but the farthest I've gotten was the screen of my phone. Not that big into school or learning. I mean, it's great stuff considering it makes a career, but not that interesting.
What do you do? As a job? I dunno. I've never seen you before.

Oh yeah. Defiantly still have my interest. And not to brag on anything, but I could be more then a big help. Have you seen these guns? Just tell me when and where and if I even get the job. I'll be there, I'm not busy doing anything else.
I know it's called 'Wasteland'
Hang on, don’t get your boxers in a bunch, cadet. I might be looking for someone to help me build an obstacle course for next year, those big-wigs down at the school finally stopped twiddling their thumbs and gave me permission to do something worthwhile for once. But given the size of the field and the size of the course, I could use a little extra man-power…which is where you come in, provided I’ve still got your intrest?

Summer job? I've actually thought about one, I just have no idea where to start, or actually even where find one. Plus, writing up a resume always bored me.
Is that like an offer?
If it is forget about me saying resumes were boring.
I know it's called 'Wasteland'
Um, no sir? I don’t do illegal stuff. I got plans and a criminal record isn’t one of ‘em. I mean, I’ll play the normal prank, mess around with a few friends, but nothing that bad. Nothing bad on purpose anyway. There was a couple times where I kinda screwed up, but that’s something we shouldn’t talk about.

Hm. Wise words. Do video games count? Those I could play all day. I see the sun too, don't get me wrong, but they are pretty addictive.
Maybe soccer? Or fishing... Yes fishing. It's actually really fun. Especially when you reel it up and it just flops everywhere. You tried it?

New hobby? I guess I've never thought of that before. I usually do everything else with people. Only thing I ever do on my own is laze around the house. Hell, I even do that with other people. Not that I'm dependent or anything, I'm my own man, but people are fun to be around, y'know?
Any suggestions?

Well, there’s gotta be someway for you to occupy yourself. The local hoo-has don’t seem to have too many problems, between vandalism, robbery and arson, they’ve got lots to pick from.
Any of that appeal to you, soldier?
