Disney’s Newest “First” Gay Characters

Not only has Andi Mack’s Cyrus Goodman been forgotten, but so has the cyclops gay cop from “Onward.”  A lesbian couple in Disney’s upcoming superhero movie, “The New Mutants,” is being described as the company’s first “significant” gay characters and relationship.

“Significant” may be the key word here, as it implies everything that’s come before was “insignificant.”

Shown above are the film’s romantic couple, Maisie Williams as Rahne Sinclair (Wolfsbane) and Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar (Psyche).

It should be pointed out that the film will not have the “Disney” banner, but it is being produced by Fox, a new Disney acquisition.  If we want to include Disney subsidiaries who do not have Disney in their name, we should credit Disney-owned ABC for “Modern Family” and Disney’s Freeform for “The Fosters,” among others, for their gay characters.

And “Andi Mack” remains the only Disney-branded TV show or movie where a character has ever uttered the words “I’m gay,” as Cyrus Goodman did.  The upcoming “Love, Victor” series is being produced by Disney-owned Fox for Disney-owned Hulu, so it won’t be able to make that claim.

Okay, so if you don’t think food poisoning can hit fast, then here’s how my night has been:

I was being an innocent bean and eating a cinnamon roll, scrambled eggs and chocolate milk for dinner while watching Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire (If you know this movie, then you’ll know how quickly this escalated.)

Around the time they were dancing at the Yule Ball and I was in Gay Mode™️ at Emma Watson looking gorgeous af, I took a big gulp of my chocolate milk without any food in my mouth to mask the taste and realized the milk was sour. I dumped it down the sink.

When Harry was in the prefects bathroom, I felt a bit nauseous, but didn’t think much of it, so I had pie and was finished by the time he, Ron, and Hermione were discussing the clue from the egg.

At the end of the second task, it had evolved into cramps and clear nausea.

When Harry saw Dumbledore’s memory of when Crouch Jr was arrested, I was having hot flashes.

Start of the maze: Had to lay down and curl in a ball to deal with the cramping and nausea

Harry and Voldemort are dueling: Whole abdomen is in pain, stomach is churning and I’m sweating from how warm I feel internally

“Professor Moody” is changing because he’s out of polyjuice potion: Had to stop the movie and run to the bathroom to puke. Came back and continued on.

Cedric’s memorial: Abdomen is in a ton of pain and I’m on the verge of crying + I feel like I’m in an oven.

The other schools are leaving Hogwarts: Had to pause again to throw up and “use the toilet” since my body was trying to get the spoiled milk out other ways.

This all escalated in the span of an hour to an hour and a half. (a bit over two if you count the tiny sips I was having before I took a big gulp) It sucks. I’ve thrown up two more times and had to take nausea meds to calm my stomach.
