Do you even protein? If you want to hit your performance goals you need to pay attention to what you eat. You don't have to track everything, but a basic understanding of the composition of food is essential. How many grams of protein do you eat per day? Why are you ignoring your health? Is it a lack of competence? (skills, judgement, education) A lack of relatedness? (a sense of attachment and belonging) A lack of autonomy? (a sense of control and self-regulation) Or do you just not love yourself enough to care bout your health? You can help to acquire all of the above, but if you don't respect yourself you'll never ask. Sleep Lift Eat (LINK IN BIO) Mot8vation https://www.instagram.com/p/CpuiOr_oMbB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Bit naughty this one... Putty triple IPA from @verdantbrew 10% abv! Azacca, Galaxy, Mosaic hops. Complex flavour, with a serious kick. The DIPA is sweet and quaffable. This is a throat punch that (thankfully) reminds you that this ain't a walk in the park! But life is all about finding the balance, we can't all be entitled keto zealots! Exercise has many benefits for physical and mental health. There are a whole bunch of reasons to focus on fitness that have ZERO to do with weight loss. So why does the diet industry only focus on that? MARKETING that's why. You don't get weak because you're old. You're old because you allowed yourself to grow weak. Kettlebells & Beers (LINK IN BIO) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpPjqmrocc4/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Exercise matters a lot. This image is taken from a study by Wroblewski et. Al (2011). It shows the difference in lean tissue (muscle mass) in a sedentary mature male, versus that of an age group triathlete. The dark areas are lean tissue. Even if your body weight remains unchanged, your body composition can change dramatically. Low levels of lean tissue can lead to a number of health concerns from low bone mineral density, to chronic pain, to metabolic disease. The best ways to maintain metabolically active lean tissue as we age, and reduce the risk of chronic illness, are to exercise regularly (ideally including progressive resistance training) and to eat adequate amounts of protein. If you are a bloke who wants to maintain good health and high quality of life as you approach or surpass middle age, you need Kettlebells & Beers (LINK IN BIO) in your life. Or DM me about online coaching. https://www.instagram.com/p/CpKbT75rZHa/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Hence why the number one rule of Kettlebells & Beers is DON’T BE A DICK. Masculinity doesn't need to be toxic. Masculinity is about self-confidence, inner and outer strength, positive mindset, be a lover, a friend, a leader... Not a gate keeping arsehole who projects their weaknesses on to others. #mentalhealthawareness https://www.instagram.com/p/Co9k5Bwo72-/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

There's a common misconception that a fitness lifestyle has to be 100% "clean" and "perfect". Nothing could be further from the truth. To lead a lifestyle that promotes fitness, health and quality of life you need one thing more than perfection. ADHERENCE! It's far easier to adhere to a lifestyle plan that allows for indulgences and imperfections than it is to be "pefect" all the time. What even is "perfect" anyway? If you want to stop being a whiney little bitch and finally start taking responsibility for your fitness and health you need Kettlebells & Beers (LINK IN BIO) And no, we're not going to the f***ing pub, it's an ONLINE program you wally! https://www.instagram.com/p/Co7KR7jI4vB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Men You don't have to be a fat and flaccid bloke as you reach middle age. If you live the lifestyle that promotes fitness, strength, health you can avoid the middle aged spread and floppy willy that society says is inevitable. But if you eat shit, drink shit, don't exercise and don't get enough sleep you will 100% become fat and flaccid. It's not your age, it's your behaviour.
