We were told that the Ambassador Bridge was a nightmare as it is under construction so we decided to head towards the Bluewater Bridge at Port Huron instead. Not every day do you get to see the Detroit Mounted Police in transit. Brenner was very curious watching out the front window.

Last night at Wayne County Campground, Belleville, MI. Much to our surprise there was an air show featuring the US Navy Blue Angels right over our heads.

Battle of the Beards! Two months to grow the best beard.

Don chose the Mountain Man look. No maintenance involved, just Oh Natural!

Dave went for some light trimming to keep the look stylish.

All good things must come to an end! This is where we part ways with Dave and Susan. We headed to Potato Creek State Park near South Bend, Indiana for a couple of days and they headed back through Michigan to cross the Bluewater Bridge at Port Huron.

Starved Rock State Lodge built in 1933 is still very traditional inside.

Reward for the end of hike was a cocktail on the patio outside the lodge. Cheers!

We took a hike to St. Louis Canyon. Steep sandstone canyons along the way.

Two night stay at Starved Rock State Park, Oglesby, Illinois.

One night stay only, could of stayed more, but well worth the sunset.

Sugar Bottom Campground Solon, Iowa near Iowa City. Looking right at the lake from our campsite. Can’t believe no one was in the campsites on the lake. Beautiful municipal campground that was only about 25% full.

Continuing the long trek back to Ontario. Sad to think this adventure is coming to an end. One night stop at Checkers Campground in Welcome, Minnesota.
