bejeweled and anti-hero existing on the same album is a great lesson on the duality of self love — we can simultaneously be our biggest fans and own worst critics. confidence ebbs and flows; it’s not always there but when it is it SHIMMERRRSS

Toddlers are so pure. She doesn’t understand that we help her with certain things because she’s little. She thinks that everyone just helps each other like that. So she tries to blow on my food and cut it up for me and tries to help me put on my shoes.

Listening to You All Over Me is that shock of recognition you get when you’re going through old photo albums and you see the face of someone that you once knew and loved but they’re kind of like a ghost to you now, because you haven’t seen them in so long and don’t know them anymore. But after all this time, you still love who they were to you and maybe even debate reaching out just to see if things are still at all the same. But ultimately you put down the phone or never send the letter, forever seeking only the comfort of nostalgia because as they say, time makes you bolder, children get older and you’re getting older too.

It’s alright to be under construction. To be figuring things out. To be searching for yourself. Often, this is what growth is. It can seem messy, confusing, and wild, but please take a moment to breathe and trust. Really, just trust this madness. It may feel uncomfortable, this feeling of growth. This uncertainty of who you truly are. But know that you will get there, when the time is right.
