𝐭𝐡𝐞  𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞  𝐨𝐟  𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐢𝐩𝐧𝐢𝐫  𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐬  𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧  the  muted  chamber  the  titan  had  curated  for  himself.  breaking,  for  a  moment,  the  thick  fog  of  grief  which  clouded  his  mind.  the  fires  of  his  rage  burned  low  at  present  having  been  smothered  by  the  storming  of  his  tears.  those  too  have  now  subsided,  but  their  sting  remains  present  upon  his  cheeks.  the  red  within  his  eyes  waning.  the  lord  commander  is  an  unwanted  company,  but  not  unwelcome.  there  is  reluctance  behind  his  questioning,  that  hugo  was  drowning  in  sorrow  did  not  dull  his  senses  of  perception  entirely.  he  does  not  answer.  let  this  be  answer  enough.

his  silence,  however,  does  not  discourage  sleipnir  entirely.  his  voice  rises  again,  dripping  like  honey.  ❛  𝐧𝐨.  ❜  the  offer  earns  the  lord  commander  a  response.  it  is  quick.  his  voice  coarser  than  is  used  but  does  not  lack  for  gratitude.  ❛  𝐧𝐨,  𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐢𝐩𝐧𝐢𝐫…  𝐦𝐲  𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝  𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭  𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞  𝐢𝐬  𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭  𝐨𝐟  𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞.  ❜  he  gazes  upon  his  own  hand,  watching  as  it  wounds  tightly  into  itself.  ❛  𝐚𝐧𝐝  𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭  𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭  𝐛𝐞  𝐦𝐞𝐭  𝐛𝐲  𝐦𝐲  𝐨𝐰𝐧  𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬.  ❜
