[Chime walked in quietly, allowing the two have their moment. Rex noticed him in the corner of her eye, and flashed him a thankful smile]

Take as long as you want, Zim.. I don’t hate you, and you’re still my friend! [She reassured him]

[Though Chime was still a bit unsure about this whole thing. Is Zim safe for Rex? He’s not going to take her from me, right? Without her I’m just a useless SIR Unit.. I’m not built for this. That’s why it’s so hard to take care of her. I’m made to listen to commands and take orders, not make my own. I suppose I can use.. assistance.]

[He finally spoke up.] I cannot forgive you for.. murdering my previous master but.. I will allow you to.. [He hesitated to get it out.] I’ll allow your friendship with Rex to remain.

but if I ever find out that you hurt her in any way, I will crush your pak under a hydraulic press.

[Without saying anything, Rex charged at Zim with a hug, mumbling into his shirt] but.. besides Chime, you're Rex's first friend! [She subconsciously mirrored his speech mannerisms] I'm going to see you again, right?

[Rex turned around as she heard Zim's voice] oh, hey Zim! Look at my tortoise! [She looked and excitedly pointed to the reptile on the table] Isn't he cool?? [She turned back at Zim, finally noticing his tense body language.] Hey.. You don't have to tell me anything.. But I'm going to find out eventually. So either you just take the chance to explain in your own words or.. Or I find out in somebody else's.

[Chime flinched a bit as he heard the word ‘useless’ come from Zim’s mouth, knowing it was true. As he got thrown his head hit the fence, bugging his personalized code and as he tried to hit Zim away from the door, his own programming prevented him with a disciplinary shock.]

[Rex was sitting at the kitchen table, talking to her new pet turtle, not hearing Zim from the other room.] I wish they could just get along.. yeah, I know that’s not how it always works but it can!.. if they tried.

It does concern me! Just tell me the truth already!!- [Chime sprung his arm out and gently nudged Rex back inside, closing the front door in her face. He "accidentally" smacked Zim with his hand as he retracted his arm back.] Whoops. [With the most obvious sarcastic tone. He then switched to a more serious attitude.] Zim.. One of us have to tell her what you did. She's going to find out either way.

I'd rather have her hear it from you.

[Chime looked at Rex, not knowing how to answer that question as he didn't really want to ruin her view of Zim, as much as he hated him he couldn't bring himself to do that. He looked back down at Zim, who was also nervously hesitating in the overbearing silence.]

[Chime tackled him onto the ground, grounding his knee into Zim's hip and raised his metallic fist back, about to strike him right in the face when-] ..Chime? [Rex stood their behind the two, holding her new pet turtle in her hands]

[Chime immediately dropped guard, his grip on Zim loosening as he heard her saddened voice. His fist immediately lowered but he refused to turn around and meet Rex's gaze, as his was stuck on Zim and filled with hatred.]

[Chime felt enraged to hear that some kids were laughing at Rex, he had a strong urge to find out where those kids lived and give them a little scare, he shook off the thought of the very unprofessional idea.. Although it would be very satisfying to him.]

[He paused, it took him a moment to answer as he suddenly sounded a bit uneasy thinking about it] ..Affirmative, I was originally assigned to Invader- [He stopped himself.] an invader.

[Chime closed the front door, his death stare not letting go of Zim] I suppose I appreciate your assistance with keeping Rex and her well-being in check. Now what did you want to discuss?

Everyone? [Rex immediately caught interest] Who is she then?? [She smiled awaiting Zim's answer, but before he could even answer, Chime opened the front door as soon as they stepped onto the porch as if he was waiting]

[He was so happy to see Rex, but in the corner of his eye he saw that moron next to her, immediately glaring at Zim with unnerving silence]

[As the two walked out of the school, there was still a few kids waiting for their parents to pick them up, one of them catching Rex's eye. She leaned in closer to Zim to whisper] Hey, that's the one who wasn't laughing at me, I should say hi- Nope. I shouldn't. She probably thinks I'm a fool- but what if she doesn't? Oh but what if she does and I accidentally prove it just by talking to her?? [She went back and forth trying to decide until that same girl came up to Rex herself]

Hey.. Just was going to ask if you were okay or whatever- Pft- Whaat? Me? Oh yeah, you're fine- I mean, I'm fine! Yes fine- ...?? Mhm!

Okayyy byee thank you!! [She grabbed Zim's hand tighter and ran away off to her base, dragging Zim with her]

Yeah, it really is! [She grabbed the screen and turned on her disguise] Thanks Zim! [She opened the door and walked out of the janitor's closet, waiting for Zim before she closed it, she looked around the empty skool hallway] Did.. Did we skip all of class orrr..?

[Rex nodded silently as she turned around a bit and let Zim examine her pak. She looked at the various fidgets and grabbed this cylinder one covered with tiny spikes, squeezing it tightly, which seemed to help her. She glanced back at Zim, wondering what he was doing]

[Rex snatched the pack of fun dip and ate the entire thing, even the paper packet.] No! No I'm not okay! Th- They were laughing at me!! [Both her hands instinctively grabbed her antennas and pulled them, the stress turning the hologram off completely] UGH! AND I CAN'T EVEN HOLD THIS PATHETIC HUMAN DISGUISE! I CAN'T DO ANYTHING, ZIM!!

Chime put me in this school so I can try to find something to do but I can't even focus!! The light's too bright, the sound of people shuffling in their seats or- or a pencil writing on a piece of paper- IT'S TOO LOUD!! Plus I feel like everyone's looking at me, what do you think they're thinking about me?? Probably that I'm a failure!! [She tugged on her antennas harder]
