It must be what-the-hell house Sunday. This one has a pending sale, though. It gets points for DIY effort, but you have to really like tile and the color combo blue & gray. 1956 ranch in Bloomington, MN, 4bds, 3ba, 2,438 sqft, $335k.
I've never seen a layout like this- walk in the front door and the stairs to the basement and a pony wall are dead ahead. There's a tile floor, but it changes to wood in the living room area to the right.
I wonder if they renovated this area, taking down walls- those columns look like new supports on a cut-down wall.
Behind the wall, there's a black kitchen with miscellaneous tiles. Everything is black, but they replaced the fridge with a less expensive white model.
I'm 99% sure, that they opened this whole area up, b/c open-concept is in demand. The exhaust hood is nice.
So, this would be the living room in front of the picture window.
And, then, this area would be a dining space.
I'd say that this is the primary bedroom.
And, a secondary bedroom.
Directly off the living room there's a full bath with a fancy modern sink, that doesn't hold water.
Some homemade storage, an elliptical-shaped jetted blue tub that looks like it's ceramic, and some dated tile.
Very large finished basement has a storage corner.
This must be a basement bedroom with an ensuite.
Interesting sinks and tile assortments in this house.
Laundry room down here.
If this is the garage, it's huge- goes all the way back.
Then, there's also a finished attic.
Maybe the 4th bedroom? With a tile feature wall.
Ensuite shower room. I'm fascinated by the blue laminate sink.
Here's a clothing closet.
Large yard has potential. 0.26 acre lot.

The Leaning Tower of Ironton, OH. Believe it or not, the tower is actually 3 rooms stacked on top of one other, but it looks like it's going to fall over. The 1855 home has 5bds, 4ba, 4,420sqft, $275k. Apparently, it was featured on HGTVs "Cheap Old Houses." Wonder why it hasn't sold.
The original wood inside is in good condition and look at the cute little light on the newel post.
It's a nice, basic Victorian.
The sitting room has an original fireplace. Is it me, or is the fireplace tilting down to the right?
This isn't supposed to be a bedroom, but they're using it as one. It also has a nice fireplace.
Large bath with a vintage tub hasn't undergone any major renovation.
And, the kitchen has had minimal updating, although it looks like it was gutted.
It's kind of cute, though. I like the industrial shelves. It certainly is large.
Lovely original curved railings.
Nice large bedroom with a cool original black fireplace. Actually, this home could be easily restored b/c it hasn't been ruined.
Another vintage-y bath.
The bedrooms are all big.
This must be the primary bedroom.
To the right of the bed, there's the first room of the leaning tower. It's pretty cool in here.
This room is nice. Looks like they filled in some gaps in the floor. That's kind of charming. For an old Victorian, it gets a lot of natural light.
Cute smaller bathroom. The door is the original with the ceramic doorknob.
Stairs going up to the 3rd level.
This is nice.
I don't know why you have to stand on a step to get to the washer/dryer. Maybe it makes the floor shake?
The 4th bath is up here.
Empty bonus space.
There's a living room up here w/a fireplace. There are sliders to a terrace, too.
There's a kitchen up here and that ladder to the left is the tower.
Inside the tower.
It has a lovely porch.
As long as that tower is sturdy, for the price, this house has potential. 0.29 acre lot.

Interestingly renovated 1953 home in Fort Lauderdale, FL. 7bds, 7ba, 2,583 sqft, $1.8m. It's set up to be an Airbnb.
They did it over in white to appeal to new buyers, but used splashes of color with furniture, and in this room, the stairs, too. There was a stone wall that they painted white, I wonder what color it was.
Because it has lots of bedrooms and baths, they were using it as an Airbnb, hence, the Exit sign. They chose a pale blue for the counter/island and matching tile with added gray, plus blue light fixtures.
Nice kitchen. I see that they painted another full stone wall white.
Very nice mural and another stone wall. So, this home had a lot of decorative stone that they covered up.
The first two bedrooms are long and narrow. Here, they're using slight color on the wall, but the bed is a bright blue and they used coordinating textiles and a painted ceiling border.
Two baths with the same tile. The tile is very pretty, but I don't know why they picked those wall colors.
A 3rd long room. Interesting. Half a painted wall and another simple wallpaper pattern.
I wonder how this painted brick shower will hold up.
Despite the reno, the house is really showing its mid century modern roots under all the brick and stone.
So, the same tile was used in all 7 bathrooms.
I wonder if they closed this in to make a hallway. It's more of a loggia, now.
I'm really unsure if I would've preferred the natural brick and stone to bring out the original character of the home.
Looks like they added the pink walls to a patio and it's kind of tight for the ping pong table.
This home is nothing but bedrooms and baths. This shower room is huge. I would eliminate some of the bedrooms, and make a family room, home office, art studio, library, etc.
This small bright room would be a nice art studio. It's pretty cramped for a bedroom. These people with their Airbnbs.
The grounds are nice, beautiful pool and the giant chess set.
Pool and the obligatory fire pit.
0.83 acre lot.

Wow, this is very different. It's a restored c.1300 14th century convent that was converted to a home in Lisbon, Sintra, Portugal. 13bds, 10ba, 3,659.73 sqft, $4,263,770 approx USD. It's ancient and so incredibly amazing. Since it was rehabbed in 1989, some of it needs new restoration work.
Look at this entrance. The Convent of São Saturnino is an architectural complex of labyrinthine design consisting of houses, corners, terraces, & gardens on several levels, with fabulous views of the mountains and the sea.
Beautiful dining room. In a convent, it would've been called a refectory. Look at the nook on the right. Is that a little holy water font on the wall?
Look at this kitchen. It still has the basic old elements, like the oven, original floors, walls and ceiling.
Steep steps coming down. I wonder if that's a reception desk on the left. Nice fireplace has a wood burning stove inside.
Niche with glass encased bust. There are other hotels in the area, b/c it's located 20 minutes from Cascais, 10 minutes from Praia Grande and Guincho beach and 40 minutes from Lisbon International Airport.
Nice little library. It looks like the restoration held up pretty well, though.
It doesn't say, specifically, but I'm assuming that everything comes with it, b/c it has a license for local accommodation, which means it could be a boutique hotel, a place of worship, or small family apartments (I hope they don't butcher it up for that, though.)
The living room doors open to this terrace.
This is one of the other buildings they refer to.
There are so many of these wonderful artifacts.
The property is stunning.
There's a modern home up here.
It's a very modern house, I wonder what the story with this one is.
What a nice hallway.
Beautifully restored.
This is so nice.
It has a pool that needs cleaning. Look at the stairs and the tile wall.
This looks like a covered cabana.
Look at this building. I love the older ones.
Everywhere you look, there's something to see.
Beautiful path thru the property.
Approx. 0.36 acre.

What a stunning Federation style home in Haberfield, NSW, Australia. 5bds, 2ba, $5.695m.
She's a beauty. Look at the long elegant entrance hall with a stained glass ceiling.
The large sitting room has an alcove for the fireplace and look at the millwork frame.
Window seats in the alcove provide cozy seating by the fireplace.
Look at the fireplace in the dining room. The millwork reminds me of Art Nouveau style design. And, look at the white woodwork in the corner.
The kitchen is utilitarian but well-remodeled- not too much, it has the vintage 1950s look. It's also open to the sun room, also and you can see the lush greenery through the windows.
This sun room surrounded by beautiful tropical plants.
This hall has lovely stained glass.
The bedrooms are big and beautiful. This one has a nice fireplace and ceiling.
Another elegant bedroom with a more elaborate fireplace.
What a great vintage bath. This is beautiful.
Home office. They must entertain clients in here, b/c there's a lot of wine. The built-in wine rack is full.
The gardens are gorgeous. Look at this private patio surrounded by a matching fence.
Pretty house on a pretty street.
Nice 2 car garage.
Look at the tile flooring on the veranda.
The grounds are impeccably maintained.
It's a lovely home on a 0.23 acre lot.

Nicely updated 1920 home in Pottsdown, PA and for a decent price, so it's already got a pending sale. I often wonder how people can do a high-end renovation, sell for $500k, or less, and still make a profit. 4bds, 3ba, 2,535 sqft, $499k.
I like the flooring in the central hall- just enough to make it pop. Appears that all the wainscoting is painted white, but at least it's still there and much brighter.
The sitting room is lovely. They painted the whole fireplace black, but left the brick chimney.
Off of the sitting room there's a beautiful sun porch.
Very nice. Would make a great plant room.
The kitchen on the other side of the hall is gorgeous.
Whitewashed brick walls and a brick floor.
Isn't this a pretty dining area, right in the kitchen?
Right off the kitchen, there's another sun room with a nice little powder room.
This is so pretty.
The primary bedroom is lovely, but I'm not a fan of tubs next to the bed.
It does have a nice window seat and storage.
This is a very nice room. Could be an extra bedroom or a flex space.
The shower room is beautiful, but whose idea was it to put in a mirrored shower?
This secondary bedroom is a good size.
They put a sauna in this bedroom and use it as a home gym.
Another lovely shower room.
Quite a large laundry room.
There are 2 patios and one has an outdoor kitchen. There's space for a small table up on the porch.
There's also a 2nd floor terrace.
0.26 acre lot.

Here's another one of my beautiful Topanga Canyon, CA tree houses. This one is a 1946 build, remodeled, 2bds, 2ba, 1,000 sqft, $999k.
There's just something about a Topanga Canyon house. So cheery, bright, and airy.
This one has an open floor plan with lots of windows.
The doors open to a beautiful terrace.
It's so pretty and look at the stone fireplace.
The primary bedroom has plenty of space for sitting and is also surrounded by the terrace.
The tub is here, though, off to the side in this nice sitting area.
Separate .5 bath.
Cute home with lovely grounds.
Sitting on the edge, looking at the view.
It even has an adorable guest cottage.
It's like a studio apt.
Private terrace.
The grounds are stunning.
0.24 acre lot

I wouldn't expect this home to be so artsy and colorful inside, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a 1946 traditional, updated brick home in Fort Smith, AR. 4bds, 5ba, 5,627 sq ft, $4.575m.
Enter the blue front door to an impeccably decorated home filled with art.
It's so pretty.
Moody family room with bright splashes of color.
They have flawlessly combined formal antiques with playful modern art.
It looks like the dining room is in a lovely sun room. Great marble floor.
Love the kitchen. It doesn't even really look like a kitchen.
That gold exhaust hood.
Off the sitting room, there's an entertaining space. Love how the bar is situated above the sunken room. The bar is a beauty.
And, the room is very comfortable for guests.
The guest powder room is so classy. Look at the marble sink.
The main stairs are castle-like. Love the stained glass windows.
Fabulous.
The primary bedroom is beautiful.
And, look at this bath. This home has to be the work of a designer.
The shiny modern take on a vintage tub, paired with that shower, are spot on.
Even the hall is amazing- look at the table.
Love this orange room- so well done.
Matching ensuite.
Great family room. It's so comfortable looking.
The home office really looks like it means business.
This is formal, but look at the playful figurines and bright art.
The other stairs have a wonderful little desk nook.
Outdoor living is amazing. Beautiful pool and patio.
Basketball.
Outdoor kitchen/living room.
Plus this incredible private park, all on a 2 acre lot.

I am angry and appalled at the renovation of this 1930 Colonia revival in Douglaston, NY. And, they redid the exterior leaving it original, so you think that you'll be walking into a refurbished colonial home. Absolutely diabolical! 5bds, 5ba, 3,019 sqft, $2.999m. They want $3m b/c it's a designer house, now. Look at this.
Gutted, completely gutted. Why did they even leave the Colonial revival exterior and the bump-outs w/window seats?
The fireplace is dramatic, but not for this house. If people want a modern house, wouldn't they want the exterior to look that way, too?
I wonder if that's the original ceiling.
This must be the family room area.
This was originally the sun porch, but it's all open concept now, and still has the colonial style windows.
Original bump outs with window seats.
The new half bath.
Going up to the bedrooms. A variety of ceilings, fancy railings and a modern dangling light fixture.
I guess that this is the primary bedroom. I don't care for the floor.
Nice large deck, though.
The shower room.
The bedrooms are plain with original closets.
New shower room.
Finished attic- they kept that lovely window in the roof. I really don't like this floor.
Huge shower room.
Big finished basement.
Storage room down here.
Large deck and patio.
0.25 acre.
