I took a quiz that asked the question, "Do you believe in love at first sight?" It took me a minute to think of my stance, but ultimately I'm pretty sure I clicked yes, which then inspired this journal response which I thought I'd share:

I hesitated when answering the "do you believe in love at first sight?" question. I honestly forget which one I said because I was so back and forth, but I think I went with yes? I don't think it can ever be LOVE at first sight because love to me means aligning with someones soul - including all their faults - and you just can't see all of that in a first glance. It's more infatuation at first sight which is a definite yes, it exists. Despite my semantics debate in my own head, however, I ultimately went with yes (or so I think I did) because I can never forget that I myself had a love at first sight moment with my ex boyfriend. And I do say love at first sight here, because while it was infatuation for sure at the start, I had the opportunity to know him and to love him later on. So that first look was the catalyst to a great love, and in that way it certainly was love at first sight. If any of this makes any sense, idk. But anyway, I think my deep down belief that a moment like that will happen to me again is what has kept me single for so long afterwards. I admit that my standards are insanely high, but yet I remain hopeful. Hopeful that I'll come in contact with someone and again the air will rush out of the world and the lights will dim and a spotlight will shine down on them and time will stop (cheesy, but yes that's what it felt like). For me to have had that experience and continue to hope for a repeat HAS to also mean that of course I believe in love at first sight. So, yeah.
