The latest addition to the Sony rx100 family (the #rx100VII) was, without a doubt, the best purchase for a recent trip to Colombia. I grabbed a #smallrig cage to enhance the overall feel and then ran amok with it through the desert, jungle, feisty city protests, and mountains. It may come in a small package, but it performs like a beast. So much so, there were times I would grab the rx100 instead of the a7II and a6500, that I also had available. It may also become the camera that turns @niki_papadimitriou into a 📸 as she shunned her iPhone for the trip. I bought the a6500 last year, thinking it would be the ideal camera to capture ski touring and trail running. This addition, though, with its ridiculous frames per second and 24-200 lens, makes it the perfect camera for such sports. I can't wait to take it to the snow. via Instagram https://ift.tt/2RfRD5M

Thank you @chloelanthier and the rest of the Patagonia team for putting on an incredible early season trail running event in Chamonix. 12 hours lapping a 10km trail tested the body and the mind, and the finish line welcome was like no other event! #Repost @patagoniaeurope • • • • • • The first European edition of @running_up_for_air is done! A total of 79 runners, ran 855 kilometers and climbed over 133,500 meters throughout today, all to raise their voice in the fight for clean air. Not only in the Chamonix Valley but in all the places we play. Thanks to all that came out and ran, volunteered and cheered the runners on. This is just the start. We’ll see you all on the trail next year. Photo: @ollybowmanphotography @patagonia_trailrunning @patagoniachamonix via Instagram http://bit.ly/2LqxU1W

The Swiss team had what looked like an unattainable lead going into the last leg of today's World Championship relay race. The Italians seemed to be making ground fast, with this overtaking move being the one that would crown them World Champions. @villarstourisme #skimovillars #ismfworldchampionships via Instagram https://ift.tt/2F9BQh2

Pitting a one-year-old against an eleven-year-old is not exactly a fair match, but they were the only competitors that we could rustle up for a race down the 1984 Sarajevo Olympics bobsleigh track. It's been an incredible journey travelling through Italy, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, and Greece with our dogs. Those that have met us along the way have welcomed us with open arms, often accompanied with a wry smile aimed at our unconventional ways. #dogslife #sarajevo #roadtrip via Instagram http://bit.ly/2F6Fwml

Bathroom by the lake. Buying an $180 12mm lens off AliExpress was always going to throw up some question marks, but at $1000 less than the Zeiss equivalent, my curiosity got the better of me. #12mm #7Artisans via Instagram https://ift.tt/2zIPTbA

Sometimes the going has to be slow and heavy to appreciate the times that are fast and light. @niki_papadimitriou on the Ak-Suu traverse in Kyrgyzstan last month. There's certainly a lot to reflect on a journey in Kyrgyzstan, and I'll show some more insights of the trip in the coming weeks. via Instagram https://ift.tt/2JkqJDP

My feed is full of trail running, marking the beginning of UTMB week. This will be the first time for many years that I will not be making the trip over, having either photographed—or ran—many of the past editions. I'm digging through the archives to find some memories from previous years. Those that have been on the course, or hiked the TMB route around Mt Blanc will know that the Gran Col Ferret is one of the highlights. On the border of Italy and Switzerland, it offers around 10km of the most beautiful trail on the route. In 2015 we hiked up towards the summit after an evening meal at Refuge Arnuva. The first runners were to come through during the hours of darkness (with Xavier Thevenard later taking the win). A great spot for a night of camping and supporting. #UTMB #grandcolferret via Instagram https://ift.tt/2woQJsg

I didn't realise today was #nationaldogday. I just assumed it was another day of dog after dog image in my feed. Our family may have grown to include one more, but this shot from three years ago seemed the ideal image to reshare. 🐶 🗻 via Instagram https://ift.tt/2MUhGxx

Swiss lakes don't exactly need to do a hard sell to get people to visit them, but this art installation, Wolf Pack, at lac lioson makes a trip that little bit more special #laclioson #switzerland #wolfpack #artinstallation via Instagram https://ift.tt/2Mjmltw

The first trail run of the year gave a good insight as to how winter 2018 turned out. Same location, three months apart. #switzerland #ski #trailrunning #mountains via Instagram https://ift.tt/2L0je4r

More space, more modern, more balconies, more parking, more storage, more rooms—there's a lot to look forward to in a new apartment. But I will miss that view. #twowindows via Instagram https://ift.tt/2JLWhl3

Four years ago I skied the route from Arolla to Verbier with no knowledge of the Patrouille des Glaciers. Two years ago I ventured out onto the course to photograph the participants, and after vowing to try and enter, this year I took part for the first time. What about when it comes around again in two years time? Maybe try and form a team to race it? Until then, it's nice to hang up the skis after a long season. Summer awaits. #pdg18 via Instagram https://ift.tt/2qSJUN7

Timezones are making Olympic viewing a hassle, although I did manage to catch the Mens combined competition early this morning, where @vmuffatjeandet won Bronze. Requiring perfect skiing across two disciplines—incredible. Image is from three years ago in Val d'Isere, on a day out shooting with @domdaher ⛷ via Instagram http://ift.tt/2HdYdSI

There's finally some colour in the sky! It's not that I don't like skiing in a whiteout, I'm just looking forward to having some of my senses back. At least there was a signpost for reassurance at the weekend. #whiteout #skitouring #type2fun via Instagram http://ift.tt/2BmHdpp

Skiing in a storm day 3/3. Large parts of the Alps were on lock down today, with Villars no different. The resort resembled a ghost town as we went out touring this afternoon. During the night trees had fallen on power cables, cancelling all trains for the day (along with the skimo World Cup). Not so great for people wanting to take the train, great for @niki_papadimitriou, and our posse of dogs, to experience some some unique touring. #skiing #switzerland #Storm #samsunggalaxy via Instagram http://ift.tt/2mYW3gC
