"trans guy music is nothing but little softboys with ukuleles" I truly believe you people haven't listened to a single thing by Billy Tipton or The Cliks or Saahrg or Rocco Katastrophe or K's Choice or Schmekel or Ryan Cassata's heavier stuff or Resuscitate or Alright Gents or Nerva Puck or 2am Ricky or really listened to any transmasc person in general. Nice job infantilizing me though I hear the optics on that are great here. I also bet that Cavetown would call you a bitch

Palestinian Columbia University student Mohsen Mahdawi has been released from ICE detention. On Wednesday, a judge denied the government’s request to pause his release and ordered him to be freed on bail, pending a legal challenge to the government’s detention of the Palestinian Columbia student in the first place. The Trump administration is attempting to deport Mahdawi on spurious charges of compromising US foreign policy. “I am saying it clear and loud,” Mahdawi said outside the courthouse. “To President Trump and his cabinet: I am not afraid of you.”

I do think it's kinda weird that the common response to "polyamorous people are oppressed" is laughter and ridicule. As if the societal status quo doesn't enforce monogamy, as if straying from monogamy isn't punished or treated badly, as if hatred of polyamory isn't always acted out with homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia and racism. I think it's funny that someone will be like "the nuclear family is bad" can see that society forces the concepts of straight/cis good but gay/trans bad, but can't for a second believe monogamy is part of all that. It's just very silly.

"trans women HATE trans men. they're oppressing you bc of their socialization" <- this is a manipulation tactic by terfs to isolate you from the broader trans community to more easily groom you into detransitioning (and possibly to groom you sexually too tbh). call it out for what it is

“trans men are gonna start crying about how pixie cuts are cultural appropriation” 4 months on T a man held a gun to my head through a rolled-down car window and the only reason he didn’t shoot was because there was a cis woman in the passenger seat.
Y’all will assume all transmascs are hysterical bitches over-dramatizing their trauma with anti-transmasculinity and crying over spilled milk because they want to be Special Snowflakes. Then a transmasc will begrudgingly open up to you about the shit that isn’t just “y’all don’t listen to us” (because they’re never allowed to stop proving themselves to everyone and everything is A Test). But we still haven’t moved past the part where nobody listens, and so they’re dismissed as liars and the cycle continues.
And I could scream at clouds about how anti-transmasculinity has taken shape like this for decades, but nobody would listen. The hatred and ostracism of transmascs is so deeply woven into the fabric of society that like. I don’t know how to tell you this but. Accusing the tboy talking about how he publicly got his ass beat of being a hysterical liar making shit up for attention is not the result of a “radical” belief system and there is nothing new or revolutionary about what you are doing In Fact this attitude towards transmascs predates your grandparents 😀❤️ But like love and light

For me the indicator of a safe queer space is actually a confident, knowledgeable trans woman who's well liked by the people there and trusted to give advice to people who are new to the space.
Because queer spaces occasionally get the occasional dissociating "cishet men" who can't figure out why they want to be in the queer space so much, feel a conflicted sense of belonging and connection that they also feel they shouldn't have, and end sitting in the corner only interacting when explicitly included.
Now, if you don't have the confident trans woman around, what'll happen is that the "cishet man" eventually stops showing up, because yeah it's nice to go, but it's also really hard for some reason, and maybe another modded Fallout New Vegas run is easier, actually. Maybe the MMO where everyone calls her the name of her girl avatar is easier. She just can't figure out why.

Hey, so, I don't know how many of you follow Canadian news, but yesterday, someone drove a car into the crowd at a Filipino cultural festival in Vancouver. I'm sorry that I can't put that more sensitively, but I really don't know how else to describe it. I'm not Filipino, but it happened in the neighborhood I grew up in. I'm not sure how to describe how I feel. I'd walked past the event an hour before with some friends. We'd joked about how the first nice weekend in Vancouver is a special occasion because everyone comes out. There's a vigil on that corner tonight.
The point of this isn't to talk about how I feel. A friend has shared some gofundmes with me and I wanted to post them here. And ask that maybe if you're local and you're able to, could you donate blood? I don't know. I don't have anything I can say. It's not my tragedy but I feel it anyway. If you can donate, I know it would be appreciated by the families.

Having to explain why donating hygiene items like deodorant and shampoo to homeless people is a good thing to an adult twice my age like they were five and still having them be peeved about it is super annoying 🙂
Anyway dearhearts, donating hygiene items to the homeless is good and important because
You're more likely to get a job if you're clean
Uncleanliness can lead to sickness
People deserve to not be dirty just because they're homeless
This shouldn't cause anger

If they do start rounding queers up it won’t be with the gestapo, but the police, and the crime won’t be written down as being queer, but public indecency, the indecency being queer in public, but that’s the quiet part no one will say out loud.

saying "welcome to womanhood" to a trans woman should cause every bone in your body to rupture through your skin simultaneously the second it leaves your mouth
