Thunderbirds Rewatch 21st Week Part 1

Impact

A comet brought into the Earth's orbit takes a wrong turn and International Rescue must intervene to stop it from colliding with the planet.

Hypno-Potamus returns in this episode, oops!! wrong show, I meant Langstrom Fischler. Also Captain Ridley O'Bannon also returns and sadly this is her final appearance.

The episode starts of on Thunderbird 5 John and Ridley are playing a ball game and hmm a bit jealous are you EOS.

Pretty cool that John has his own ball game room.

EOS interrupts them and tells John that there is a problem and Ridley leaves.

That Smile

Eos tells him that there is a comet has changed direction and is now heading for earth and John notices something on the comet too.

John contacts Tracy Island, love that Scott just moves Alan's legs out of the way so he could sit down.

John lets them know about the comet and shows them the device on it and it belongs to Langstrom Fischler and Scott doesn't look happy.

This is the first time we see Virgil going into space. He even complains that he goes down a tube backwards and Alan gets a comfy chair.

Scott and Brains are trying to track down Fischler but he changes addresses a lot possibly because he doesn't want to get sued. Love Scott's comet saying he changes addresses more than Scott changes his socks, lol.

They find him and Scott asks him, that didn't the GDF tear up him space permit, which we have some continuity from the episode Skyhook. But Fischler has a loophole and tells him he can do something remotely instead, by sticking a rocket on a comet.

He apparently wants to mine it for frozen water. Brains tells him that the Comet is going to hit earth but Fischler tells him it won't and he's about to change it's trajectory.

He does that and it fails.

Then he starts rambling making up words. Alan and Virgil who are also listing. Alan asks Virgil did he just make that up and Virgil tells him yes he did. Love Virgil's expression here.

Fischler thinks it won't do any harm when it hits as it's a little ball of water and rock but Brains tells him that it's a big ball of water and rock and will cause massive destruction when it hits. Fischler tells him that he will get back to him.

Virgil decides to blow up the comet by drilling it down to it's core and put explosives down there.

Alan lands TB3 on the comet and starts drilling but then Fischler manages to switch on the rocket and Alan loses his grip on it and TB3 gets hit by debris.

Scott asks them if they are ok, even though it takes them a moment to reply, Virgil tells him thanks to Alan, they are ok.

Scott is really pistoff with Fischler now.

Virgil even says that they could've finished the job by now if he hadn't butted in.

Scott contacts Fischler again asking what has he done but Fischer tells him that he gave a comet a push and thinks it will bounce of the atmosphere and fly out into space but Brains tells him it will still enter Earth's atmosphere and crash into Global One on it's way

Alan suggests that they leave the comet and move Global One out of the way but Scott tells them it's best to blow up the comet and Fischler's rocket

John says he will break the news to Global One and he contacts Ridley to let them know that they are in danger.

Ridley evacuates her crew from Global One but she stayed behind because she wants John to help move Global One out of the way. But John tells her that he's not a tug boat, he helps rescue people and she tells him, i'm people, rescue me.

I do find her a bit selfish here, the station can be rebuilt.

John takes Thunderbird 5 to danger zone, Brains asks what John is doing, John says he's going to save Ridleys life but brains is not happy about it and even Scott tells him, If things don't go your way, they could lose Global One, Thunderbird 5 and you. but John tells he would love to hear a better plan and swipes them away.

Brains even says to Scott he never seen John behave so Impersonally.

Fischler appears again has some stupid idea and then Scott hangs up on him. Brains tells him they got to do something about him but Scott tells him, he has sent Kayo to deal with him.

Back with Fischler, he's annoyed that IR hang up on him, Kayo arrives but Fischler thinks it's his food being delivered and even asks his assistant Kinnear (gets his name wrong) to pay for it. But Kayo knows his name.

Kayo uses her key card on his electronics and casually walks out and everything is shut down, apparently it was a disrupter virus. And that was her only appearance in this episode.

Alan and Virgil get back to drilling into the comet and John arrives at Global One.

John tells Ridley he wants to save her first because he may not have enough time to pull Global One out of the way but she tells him, save me, save my station, package deal. She even says to him would you give up Thunderbird 5 if boot was on the other foot. So he reluctantly agrees.

So he brings down the mooring claw and connects it to Global One and starts to move it out the way.

Back on the comet, they decide to ram the drill in the comet, so they can get it in deeper, they even put there safety helmets on.

Brains tells John that he needs to go faster and John tells him he's giving her all I got. Then Ridley suggests she will switch on the manual controls activating the thrusters, which are the other side of Global One. So she goes for it and travels along Global One using it's hand rails and even misses a handrail but she makes it and switches the thrusters on.

EOS tells John that the comet's debris is about to hit. The debris does hit the station causing some minor damage and Ridley gets stuck so John has to leave TB5 to save her.

Another wave of debris hits even damaging John's rocket suit but hey managed to get back to the other side ok and the station manages to miss the comet. John even notices Thunderbird 3 sticking out of the comet and it's just hit the upper atmosphere.

Scott tells Alan and Virgil to disengage as the comet is about start burning up but Alan and Virgil have only just reached the centre of the comet and Virgil sends the explosive down it.

They are about to leave but the grappling arms won't retract.

Scott is worried about them and thinks he's going to lose 2 brothers, you can even hear the emotion his voice.

Luckily Thunderbird 3 gets free, just in time and Virgil blows the comet up, love their fist pump and Scott looks so relieved

John tells Ridley, if she's up for another game of handball,

I think this episode could of been a 2 parter but it's still a great episode. There were a lot of emotions the boys were going through, especially Scott.

Part 2 will be tomorrow.

Thoughts on the episode:

If we get no John for a third episode in a row, I will riot!

Why is this guy so against checking the bridge for damage!? It's about to carry a very important and very heavy rocket in a few hours? ALL THE MORE REASON TO CHECK THAT IT'S STRUCTURALLY SOUND, MY DUDE!!! They'll be WAY more on your ass if the whole thing collapses, I can tell you!

Wife and kids, you say? I do believe that this man will need rescuing soon...

"Kiddo" Gordon, you are the second youngest, you can't be going round calling people 'kiddo' when you are one of the kiddos

I don't know how difficult they are to do . . . but you can change the number of pieces to make it more challenging, and choose whether the individual pieces are always in the right orientation, or have them able to be rotated.

Stranger Danger only applies to children, actually. He's a white, adult male, what could possibly- oh wait, oh fuck, what is that?

Alan and Gordon are finally off on an adventure rescue!

Gordon and Alan are in charge of the map? Bruh, these guys are not getting to Anderbad

Is- is Anderbad a reference to Anderson?

I think about that "TOO SERIOUS!" meme every time I see a human hand... (finally my talents at drawing hands have come in clutch!)((lol see what I did there =v=))

Oh? Penelope and Jeremy have to go down into the creepy basement? The spooky, scary, highly suspicious basement? The DefinitelyNotATrap basement? That basement? I just don't see what could possibly happen down there...

I love that the reaction to getting locked in the basement was a mild "how rude!"

Honestly, Lady Penelope and Sir Jeremy are the team-up of all time - nothing could possibly more than mildly perturb these guys

Sir Jeremy, why are you, an adult man, sleeping in a onesie?

Parker was driving on every lane of that road like, damn, you realise this is two-way traffic, right?

When the camera was cutting between Parker's driving and that waiter desperately stumbling through the darkness, half my brain honestly thought that Parker might just hit that guy with the car.

Omg Virgil was so stressed out driving through the monorail tunnel, bless him! And Gordon's like "relax, we are not going to get hit by a train, dude" *cut to train noises* Gordon: "nvm we are 100% about to be hit by a train"

ON THAT NOTE!!! Jeff!!! Could you not have called the monorail operators maybe and asked them nicely not to hurtle through the Anderbad tunnel for a hot sec!?!?!? You could make up literally any excuse so the passengers aren't alarmed "there's an obstruction on the rail; small delay while we clear it" you know, normal stuff like that happens literally All. The. Time to trains! but NO, I've just got to lose 10 years of my life while I stress out over this episode instead! I hate you, Jeff! 😀

Alan: This is the worst trip ever! Why can't I go partying with my brothers!? It's not fair! 😠

Lady Penelope: you're too young to party Alan, lets hit up the nightclubs instead (don't tell your father)

Thunderbirds Rewatch 20th Week Part 2

The episode starts of at an airport, don't no which one, possibly Heathrow and there is going to be a crash landing.

It crashes and it doesn't look like there's any survivors.

Turns out it's from a film that these people are watching, it's about safety on planes and they waiting for Brains.

Brains arrives in cool sunglasses, even contacts Jeff to say he's arrived.

apparently he helped build a new plane called Skythrust. It's a pretty weird looking thing.

They are test flying this thing. It has some features that are very top secret.

On Tracy Island, Scott is reading the newspaper on the Skythrust. Has Virgil got his hand on Tin Tin shoulder. I hope Alan doesn't get Jealous.

Even Penelope has a whole feature on her in a magazine and is at some fashion event with Francois Lemaire, a fashion designer not a idiot explorer in TAG.

In Paris Lady Penelope is visiting Francois Lemaire, she's going to model for him and he has a big surprise he's about to tell her about his secret fashion designs but Penny discovers the place is bugged and uses a scanner concealed in a hairbrush. She also sees someone watching them from a distance and a pen is bugged too. Someone really wants his designs.

He reveals the big secret is that he invented new fibre which can duplicate other fabrics and can be folded up and won't crease

Later she's having tea and discovers the sugar is bugged too. Wow someone is desperate to get these new designs. were they expected someone to swallow that bug and follow them.

Francois is worried about his show won't able go on at his studio so Lady Penelope has an idea.

Back at the airport, Brains and the 2 blokes Captain Ashton and Commander Norman are talking about Skythrust and the final test was a success. Brains then get a call from Penelope and she tells him her idea.

Oh hey Parker, I wondered were you were.

Penelope and Captain Ashton are having dinner, she wants to have the Fashion show on board the Skythrust. They get tea but then Parker tells her that there is another bug somewhere, which is in the teapot.

Erm what's Lady Penelope wearing? is she going to a fashion show or going horse riding.

They all get on board the Skythrust and the plane takes off from Paris.

Brains is back at the airport and Tin tin is with him this time.

Back on the plane, the Fashion show is going smoothly. Penelope, Deirdre and Madeline show off Lemaire's newest fashion collection.

The pilots tell the airport that they are 15 mins away.

The fashion show has ended Lady Penelope has to change before they land, Lemaire asks Deirdre where Madeline went but she hasn't seen her.

Madeline has gone to the cockpit and pulls out a gun on the pilots and tells to go to the Sahara Desert so no one would disturb them.

She's not working alone, a steward, Mason has also pulled out a gun on everyone else and wants to nick the new clothes.

Oh blimey, Jeff is not sitting at his desk.

On the plane, Penelope twists the ruby on her ring and it alerts everyone on Tracy Island, Poor John is not needed for this episode. Jeff sends Scott and Virgil to go and Alan goes too. What no Gordon!!!! Jeff will contact Brains and find out what's happening.

Penelope's ring is also a tracker, so they can track where the plane is going

Scott contacts Skythrust and asks them to turn back but Madeline says no and Scott tells her they have to force the plane to return.

Brains tells Virgil that he need to fire a non explosive missal at the plane but Virgil thinks it's too risky but Brains tells him not to worry.

Virgil flies near the plane but Madeline tells him to back off or she will shoot Ashton in the head.

Alan then shoots a rocket at the undercarriage causing a malfunction So they can't land the plane but Madeline doesn't believe them and Ashton tells her to bring in Mason.

Mason comes in and Ashton tells him they have to return to London and land there as the undercarriage is damaged and they are better equipped for a emergency landing than in the Sahara Desert, he reluctantly agrees.

Alan tells Jeff that the plane has turned back. Jeff tells them they should go pay a visit to the 2 men that Madeline is meeting, they are crooks too and are wanted for murder and a bunch of other things.

At the airport. the plane lands, the secret safety feature is the fuel pod is released and blown up at a safe distance.

Penny is packing

Back in the desert the 2 guys are still waiting for the plane. TB2 flies by and they think its the new plane. Alan shoots a live missal at them, you think that would kill them but no they are still alive.

Back at the airport, they all want to go out somewhere to eat and open a bottle of champaign that was made in 1993, apparently is was a good year for champaign.

Lost Kingdom

After a seaquake near the coast of Greece reveals the lost city of Atlantis, Francois Lemaire ignores International Rescue's warning about aftershocks and end up getting stuck.

On Tracy Island, Kayo is teaching everyone a defence move, the Wing Chun Sticky hands technique, which is real defence move. She does it on Gordon and was going to ask Brains but he wants Max to so it. But he fails

John contacts them, telling them he's picking up seismic activity near Greece and has detected structure there so he sends a probe (which looks like the bomb from Space Race) there and finds a statue.

Possibly a few days or weeks later, Penelope is there, she says that the World Council and Archaeologists agree that it is the Lost City of Atlantis.

They briefly discuss about the lost city, including Brains wondering if the Solar Kythera survived when suddenly John picks something up which turns out to be Francois Lemaire and his Wife are at the Lost City of Atlantis. Francois wants the be the first person to be there.

Lady Penelope tells him he has to leave or he could damage the artifacts there, even John appears telling him it isn't safe as the area is on a live seaquake.

Lemaire is about to leave when he puts his sub in the wrong gear and gets stuck in a trident and the sub gets damaged even move when a sea quake happens

So now they do have to contact International Rescue.

Lol Virgil just randomly appears from nowhere. He wasn't sitting with the others, so where was he. Obviously Gordon goes and Brains and Max are going too, because Brains wants to see the Solar Kythera.

They arrive at the area, Brains is becoming sea sick, also a aftershock happens. Gordon gets Lemaire and Madeline out but Lemaire still wants to visit the area, even Gordon says no and Brains thinks he's after the Solar Kythera. But Lemaire thinks Mer people exists.

Unsurprisingly Lemaire takes off and wants to search for proof Mer people exist. Gordon does ask Virgil if he could lower a cable to catch him.

But Lemaire goes into a building so Gordon has to go in after him. Luckily the place has breathable air and are able to leave there subs but the place is very unstable, Max will able to detect any early signs of earthquakes.

Gordon tells Lemaire, they have to leave but he doesn't listen so Max has to stop him.

Then another Seaquake happens and they become trapped.

Lemaire's sub is completely buried but luckily Thunderbird 4 is fine.

Luckily Lady Penelope is in the area and well help them get them out. So some tiny Pen & Ink moments.

It was pretty obvious that Gordon said Arse and he said it in front of Penny, I wonder if she told him off.

Penny and Parker arrive and have to launch a missal to blast there way through but Lemaire doesn't want it to hit his sub and Penny tells him they wouldn't needed to do it if he hadn't led them in there in the first place. and Parker fires the Missals.

Another quake happens and they are about to leave when of course Lemaire goes off again so Brains goes after him and discover the Solar Kythera is real and he activates it.

John tells them another big quake is about to happen and they about to leave, when they find out they are trapped.

Gordon suggests that Virgil will blast them out but Brains say that's too risky and will use the Solar Kythera to get them out as it has a viewing platform.

Brains asks John to do some number crunching to activate the other parts of the Solar Kythera.

They get to the top and ask Gordon to pick them up, as the place is filling up with water and he can open the viewing window.

They reach the top Brains and Lemaire go into TB4 and they finally leave the place.

Of course Lemaire is claiming all the credit and wants to plan his publicity tour.

Back on Tracy Island, Brains manages to get the scan of the Solar Kythera and plans of building it.

Alan suggest they could go for a swim before dinner and everyone except Brains joins him but sadly we don't see them in the pool. But were they going to go in wearing there normal clothes, lol.
