even if the percy jackson books were not extremely positive about 'western civilization' with only the faintest gestures towards ambivalence on the topic (they are! i read them all like fifty times when i was a tween amiguitas i know what's in them)--seeing so many people assert that the existence of 'western civilization' is simply a neutral, apolitical fact and not an extremely contentious political claim used as the backbone of imperialist narratives of history is truly wild. like ok fandom url jordan peterson
