Only 13 days left! I just can’t believe how fast it’s coming!
I’m still back in last February wishing and praying to get my first choice destination. Now the time has come, everything is lining up for a crazy adventure that will last more than 4 months! Sure I’m going to the most beautiful city on the globe (Istanbul) for school purposes, ill have 5 classes to pass but still, the calendar is already full and I’m not even there yet. Greece, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria and the list is long for Turkey itself!
I feel so lucky to have an opportunity like this one, being able to put my life on hold for a full semester to live an amazing experience , and at the same time not affect my studies. Before even knowing that the exchange program was compulsory for bilingual students at HEC, i was dreaming to leave Montréal and explore the world (especially for Istanbul). Indeed it was a long and hard journey between the application process and now, but everything is ready for the big departure, and I’m so glad I didn’t give up.
Even if it’s just around the corner, I still have the weird impression that something is going to take that away, and I’m not going to be able to realize my dream. But I have to focus on the preparations in order to get everything ready for the 31st.
Anyhow this is going to be the place where you’ll learn about all my adventures, and since I’m really focused on photography lately, it’s going to be mostly a photo blog (this post will probably be one of the rare posts with text) . I will make sure that the pictures emit the spirit and the feeling of my travels! Thank you for your support and stay tuned for more!

2016, January 26th
A year passed since a wrote that post and honestly it still feel the same. Surreal and euphoric… I didn’t have a lot of expectations when I left, all I really wanted was to get out of my comfort zone, discover new stuff and meet new people. Well let me tell you that I was really well served! It was the most refreshing, self growing and electrifying period of my life! Everything went so fast we didn’t have the time to sit and realize what was happening to us, we just lived, had fun and laughed. Since I’ve been back sometimes I just sit in the bus or the metro and get flash backs of the happiest and simplest moments, I cant hold myself from smiling like a crazy person. The person that I was on last January 26th and the person I am now are a galaxy away from each other!
All that was possible because I had the chance to meet the most amazing people while I was there. Let’s just say that we were really lucky to have found each other. Now that we all split and everyone is in their respective piece of the World, I feel like my second family is all around the world and the planet is my playground. I really do feel like we are citizens of the World. These people, whatever will happen in the future they will always be in my heart!
That city was a real ‘‘coup de coeur’‘, I’ve rarely felt home like I did during the 4 months there. Turkish people are soo welcoming and genuinely warm people. What can I say about the beauty of the whole country! You’ve all seen it through my pictures! However I need to admit that Istanbul was my favorite, the culture, the history, the architecture, the FOOD! 4 months were not enough to discover the whole city, I still have soo much to discover from that city!
I’m so thankful for everything that I was able to accomplish! So many memories, so many people met that have marked me, so many dreams realized! It gave me desire to never stay at the same place anymore, I want to discover the world (not as a tourist tho, as a citizen of the World). Ok I’m going to stop here cause I could keep on writing for a looong time

Quote
“Why, you will go home and then you will find that home is not home anymore. Then you will really be in trouble. As long as you stay here, you can always think: ‘One day I will go home.’” He played with my thumb and grinned. “N'est-ce pas?” “Beautiful logic,” I said. “You mean I have a home to go to as long as I don’t go there?” He laughed. “Well, isn’t it true? You don’t have a home until you leave it and then, when you have left it, you never can go back.”
