to christen my new designs I re-listened to the purps episode and drew them purping it up 👍

due to a combination of being inspired by miggsboson on tumblr’s sick-ass togore comics and some very good design advice from skitt skittlebugg, i decided to do a lineup of the PD in a more toony / rough style than I usually go with :-] (also obvs the dakota design is very much inspired by skitt’s [at the very least outfit-wise])
some of the early concept doodles, and ghostknife! (i love the weird slanted wiwi at the top. wet rat looking ass.)
#this was very fun!!! and a nice break from homework lol#school is kicking my ass a little </3#these had me looking back at my old designs…#honestly the only one that sucked bad was my dakota design. the others still hold up for me#especially my ashe design I really like that one#i did change it up a lot just for funsies though#giving him the magenta worked better for incorporating his color into the other designs#the demon heelies are a downgrade for the sake of maintaining the eye motif#in my mind he is a bit of a scene kid. this has no basis anywhere and is purely me making decisions because I think they would look cool#vincent stole his ripped skinny jeans and dyed them purple. punishment for encroaching on his brand 👍#my william design literally did not change other than making him look slightly more neurotic#zigzag boy#i will never forget dakota’s belly button ring because it’s the main justification I have for giving him earrings#i want to give william and vincent earrings So Bad but I feel like william would probably psyche himself out too much about getting pierced#(at least pre-ashe william. the purps changed him.)#and earrings are probably either risky or nonexistent on fauna so vincent is also ruled out in my mind#entirely made up design rules and yet i adhere to them. probably the autism’s fault methinks.#anyways!#my solution to not knowing what to do with a character’s arms is to give them a prop. sometimes this works (ashe) and sometimes. genuinely curious, how would people describe my art style? like. not phrasing this right but what are the qualities of it? sometimes i feel like it's pretty boring so id like to know what other people think
#boring???????#genuinely you have one of the most distinct styles man. like okay i’m just gonna list stuff because I can’t sum it up concisely#1: you have So Much line confidence it’s genuinely so sick. wizard powers.#this is maybe just speaking as someone who does like. only digital art but!#especially with your pen-drawn works the intentionality behind the strokes shows really clearly and wonderfully#2: the movement ghruigh your grasp on anatomy and ability to stylize it in such a way that it reads incredibly clearly while still#conveying an incredible amount of motion. like okay I know that’s vague but like. your drawings have life to them!!!#3: complementing your grasp on anatomy again because !!!!!! especially the way you draw larger characters?????#and noses your noses are really good#uhhh but yeah if i had to do some descriptors i’d say like#loose. expressive. distinct (as in with forms although the style itself is very distinct). shaped.#yeagh. words 👍

btw goon eventually realizes she’s a woman and transitions and that by itself doesn’t fix her, but the process of realizing she can do things for herself (become a woman) instead of existing for her job ultimately leads to her becoming generally less of an asshole.
(this would be followed up by a drawing of her but i’m in like three different kinds of pain right now so do me a favor and imagine goon as a self-fufilled woman who quit her job and got a pet gecko and rotate her in your head)
