It's nice to romanticize early mornings and cuddles in bed; things like soft, sleepy kisses and slow lovemaking as the sun rises, warm limbs tangled in soft, white sheets, a lover's breath on your skin. These are all things I daydream about on a regular basis.
But I also love to romanticize the other domestic parts of a relationship. The hour after everyone gets home from work, school, workouts, grocery shopping, etc. The hour after you settle in and sit down to a meal together; or, one of you cooks while the other sits with a cup of coffee that you know you'll regret when you're still wide awake at midnight, chattering on about work drama and that one celebrity interview everyone is talking about. The kitchen is filled with the rich aroma of garlic and maybe some sesame oil, toasted rice and roasted vegetables. There's music playing, or the TV drones in the background. If you've got kids, they're bickering over whose turn it is on the Xbox, or maybe they're actually getting along for once and playing a decently sane round of Uno.
There's beauty in the mundane, in the moments where you come together after a long day of being apart, when you're just happy to see each other, to lay soft kisses on your lover's lips, to let the weight of the world roll off your shoulders as soon as you cross the threshold of your home and toe off your shoes and pad to the nearest chair to flop and sigh and quiet your aching feet.
There's beauty in having a person waiting for you, eager to relax into your arms and tell you about their own day while you stroke their head and soothe their woes.

As someone who is naturally soft spoken and tends to not speak unless spoken to (or unless I'm really comfortable around you), it is absolute torture working with a woman who literally, LICHERALLY never shuts the fuck up. It wouldn't be so bad if she didn't have a voice that's somewhere between Gilbert Godfrey and Jennifer Coolidge, but genuinely, I'm so. over. the constant chatter/singing along with the radio/whistling/reading every ticket out loud. I cannot. Halp.

“…to me” is one of the most powerful disclaimers we have on here… is this character analysis accurate? debatable. but it’s real… to me.

Hiii Lin, happy Sunday! I felt compelled to tell you that, while I know we don't always necessarily swim in the same fandom waters, your Kishibe fics/thoughts are cozily nestled in my mind and will never, ever leave. Something about your particular writing style--warm and painterly--really vibes with that character to me in a way that's unforgettable. <3
Lo, hey! I don't recall exactly what it was that brought us together, but I'm glad for it regardless. Kishibe strikes me as the kind of guy who is just effortlessly cool in a dangerous, sleazy, really smart kind of way, and I love how it makes me feel to write about him. He always makes me feel a little bit dumb, and I'm not sure what it says about me that I like that, but here we are.
Since I cannot accept a compliment without giving one in return, I'll tell you that one of my favorite things about your writing is how clever it is. It's a pleasure to digest, it flows beautifully, and it always makes me laugh somehow. You've got killer wit and a vivid way of describing things that makes everything you write a joy to read. There's a drabble you wrote about Spike Spiegel that sticks with me always.
I hope you have a great week!

People seem to not know how old writers are when they make their stories.
Stephanie Meyer wrote Twilight in 2003, at age 29
Cassandra Clare started writing Mortal Instruments in 2004, at age 31
Rick Riordan published Percy Jackson & the Olympians, the book about 12yrolds, at age 41
George R. R. Martin published A Game of Thrones, at age 48
You can't even use the "but fanfiction isn't real writing" argument because of how many fanfiction turn movies there is. They are clearly enough of a story to be made into published books.
Anna Renee Todd's After series was a Harry Styles fanfiction, which was published in 2014, when she was 25
E.L. James Fifty Shades of Grey series was a Twilight fanfiction, which was published in 2011, when she was 48
Mortal Instruments was a Harry Potter fanfiction.
Why must they act like After someone turns 20 their life ends, like people can't have hobbies???
