Thota Vaikuntam, born in 1942 in Boorugupalli, in undivided Andhra Pradesh, is an iconic Indian artist renowned for his vivid portrayal of rural Telangana. His work, deeply rooted in his cultural heritage, stands out for its celebration of native simplicity and beauty. Vaikuntam’s journey into the world of art began at the College of Fine Arts and Architecture in Hyderabad, where he earned his diploma in 1970.
