Right now we’ve paused development on Thornburrow, so auditions won’t be out for some time, but we will definitely have occasional single-episode or smaller voice parts!

And, uh, I’m pretty sure they’re all parts for teens. Like the whole dang thing is made by teens it’s pretty teen-heavy.

We’ve assembled the crew! It’s a plucky, ragtag bunch. We’ll see how it goes from here.

To those who have sent in contest entries: I’ve received them! I’m hoarding them in the ole inbox for now just cause it’s easier.

I’ll start churning out character bios until next week. My time is about to be eaten right up because the famed Tech Week is starting in my real life. But after that, I’ve basically got nothing. It’s blissful to think about.

Contests

Goooood morning Thornburrow! I figured we ought to start this off with a few contests. Rules are very simple: if you win, your stuff is in the podcast! If you don’t win, it’s not! Tada! Anyway, here they are. Good luck!

Name Contest

Anna, our main character, finds a handheld tape recorder and presses record. Thus, the podcast begins. The whole thing is recorded on that handy little tapedeck, and it needs an affectionate name. Just, uh, submit some! What’s a good thing to name a beat up old tapedeck that will eventually become a treasured possession, probably? This contest will end... soon. I’m not sure yet. Before the first episode is recorded.

Plants Contest

Thornburrow, the central city the podcast takes place in, has been overtaken by deadly plants. But how deadly? That’s for you to find out! Design some interesting flora for our explorers to encounter and we might feature it in coming episodes! They have to be dangerous, but the level and nature of that danger (get it? nature?) is entirely up to you. Get creative! You can submit those here, in really any format you want

Thornburrow Podcast

Thornburrow is a new sci-fi apocalypse podcast (new as in I just sat down and drafted the first episode) that takes place on scenic North America, once the North American scenery has taken back the place.

Basically, the plant-pocalypse has happened. 

It follows a band of adventurers, explorers, and unwitting passengers as they fight for food, shelter, and even their own life, against the most unwitting of combattants-- just, like, flowers and stuff. But like, carnivorous, and prehensile, and terrible just all around.

Also, there’s aliens! It takes place in the same universe as Death at a Low Price, was initially created by its initial creator, and is written by (mostly) its crew members. Fun! 

Also, if you want to join the Thornburrow crew, shoot us an ask! We’ve got a few writers already, and I’ll make a Discord chat soon.

We’ll be posting character bios shortly, as with a brief naming contest, and putting up casting calls shortly after that. Stay tuned for more info, and share this post to get the word out.
