The cure to anxiety is completing all the tasks you have to finish for the day early and doing them phenomenally and being physically perfect and on everyone’s good side preferably even their favorite.

nice pair of characters who trust each other more than anyone else in the whole entire world it would sure be a shame if one of them betrayed that trust for the sake of trying to keep the other alive. it would sure be a shame to love someone so much you destroy them

I once carried out my own personal form of stigmata on an Italian. I pushed his face up against a trench and shoved a six-inch nail up his fucking nose, and I hammered it home with a duckboard. It was fucking biblical, man.

Fortune Teller
Alfie/Tommy - oneshot drabble
(This takes place during Alfie and Tommy’s first meeting.)
“Oi, mate, you tell fortunes?” Alfie decides to ask if only to break the tension that’s settled over his office. Not to say he’s not genuinely curious, but things were getting awkward. A man bleeding from his face suddenly can do that, he supposes.
Tommy cocks an imperious eyebrow (which is sort of incredible that he can do that without wincing in pain) and primly states, “I can. Why? Do you want me to tell your fortune?”
“Yeah, s’why I asked.”
The other man nods, “I’ll need your hand, then.”
Alfie considers this for a moment before he leans forward and props his elbow on his desk top, offering his hand forward so that Tommy can do whatever it is he plans to do. When Tommy grasps his hand, Alfie swears a zing goes up his spine. Nothing unpleasant, but certainly surprising.
Tommy carefully turns his hand over and examines his palm. Fingers that have the calluses of a man who’s known work gently trace along the crease lines and Alfie feels goosebumps erupt all over his body.
“Hm, very interesting,” Tommy hums and the corner of his mouth ticks up a bit at Alfie’s responding scoff.
“Am I going to die soon, treacle?” Alfie asks mockingly, but Tommy doesn’t rise to the bait and instead with upmost seriousness corrects him.
“No, you’ll live a long life,” Tommy’s fingers trace over the line that must represent that, “There will be hardships, but nothing you can’t overcome.”
Then he switches to another crease, “You’ll have a profound romance at some point in your life. Your bond with this person will be very strong.”
Alfie hums but to be honest he’s not really listening all that close. He’s more focused on the feather soft fanning of Tommy’s lashes and how every so often they lift enough to reveal those sky gem eyes. People aught not be that pretty, Alfie thinks, it’s dangerous to those around them who will be inevitably be struck stupid by their beauty.
When Tommy eventually releases his hand, Alfie feels the loss as a physical ache in his chest. Awful terrible things, these Birmingham nymphs, coming in and stealing hearts.
Alfie carefully locks away any longing that might be in his soul and hopes that Tommy will come by again soon, if only so that Alfie can look at him.
