If you are eating less than the recommended calorie amount, here’s what you need to know about what to expect after just a few days:
-you will be cold. So cold. Even if it’s 60 degrees outside, your hands and feet will be freezing. Layer blankets on your bed and drink warm drinks to get through it.
-you will be moody as hell. You will be angry most likely and feel like the world is against you personally. Watch your tone and make sure you try to think rationally before expressing negative emotions towards others.
-you will likely have stomach cramps for a short period if you go from eating a normal calorie amount daily to eating under it for multiple days.
-you will feel nauseous if you drink too much water/tea. Stretching and tums help with that (plus tums provide calcium!).
-headaches. Take an ibuprofen, burrito yourself in blankets, and take a nap.
-you will be excessively tired all the time. The lack of glucose and fat energy from foods means your body will have to get energy from secondary resources like muscle mass and, later on, fat. Your body isn’t a big fan of that and will put you in a state of “sleep so I can get more energy thanks.” Sleep 5 hours, wake up for 20 minutes in the middle of the night (make some tea, do a bit of slow and steady exercise, nothing exerting), then sleep 6 more hours. This will help your body be put on a normal schedule and when you wake up you will feel much more rested. Also helps lower the chance of a bad headache later in the day.
-you will want to eat everything in sight, but if you do, you will probably feel sick. Drink something, make a normal meal or whatever you’re comfortable with, and eat it slowly. You’ll feel better (physically) after eating something.
-you will begin to feel distant and distracted. If this happensa lot, eating something is one of the few solutions.
-coffee will cause you cramping and has a laxative effect. If you don’t want this, don’t drink it. Same with energy drinks.

i gotta talk to y’all about something.
i keep a massive “bmi” file. it has pics and gifs of models, ppls body checks, actresses, any time i see a pic that provides me the person’s measurements i save it. and i save all types: i have pics from ppl with bmis from ~13 to over 42. i currently have around 700 pictures.
i mostly do it bc i like to have a point of reference. i want to know what that bmi looks like, since just saying the number doesn’t really help me visualize it. i always add the bmi, the name of the person i took the pic from, their height, and their weight. i also add what weight i should have to achieve that bmi, bc i am that girl.
some interesting (at least to me) stuff i noticed:
most popular tumblr user’s pics are between bmis of 17.1 and 17.8. those pics get the most notes.
another popular body type lies between 18.0 and 18.5.
ppl also love 16.4 to 16.9.
gifs are 1000x more popular than pics and your average gif always seems to get >5x more notes than popular pics.
everybody is different!!! ofc i cant be sure the person isn’t lying about their stats but honest to god, i see ppl with bmis ~19s that look skinnier (in my eyes) than ppl with bmis ~16. and not just “one or two ppl”, it happens quite a bit.
a muscular ~16 looks a billion times skinnier than a soft ~16. the difference is unbelievable.
honest to god i feel like there’s not a lot of change once you reach 16.5 or so. literally i feel like even 13s look similar to 16.5s. plenty of 16s look thinner than 14s imo.
after reviewing the files i reached the conclusion that my personal taste is the best look is at the 18s. people look really hot by then, curvy but still thin. after 17.5 or so it starts going more towards “obviously sick”, which i find pretty as well but not as much as the hot bods. thats my personal opinion though.
breasts are almost universally gone by ~16. no one at that range looks bigger than a b cup (obv i cant tell for sure).
thinspics of the “upper arm bracelet” start showing up at high 16s.
prominent rib pics show up at around 19 sucking in and become really visible at 17.5 or so.
prominent hipbones without forcing are p much universal at low 15s, though a LOT of people have them at ~17. that seems to be the tougher milestone to reach.
i once wrote a post on what bmi ppl usually get their thigh gap and i was clearly damn right bc i see huge gaps at 20.5 and really small ones even at ~17.3. average is 19.5 or so, though.

Ana water fast tracker ✨
So, whenever I fast for a long time I tend to lose motivation quite often. If you have the same problem, here’s something you can do.

You make a long stripe of paper, glue multiple stripes together bc it has to be quite long, and then you devide it in however many hours you’re fasting (I did 48 hours). Then you write down the hours from 1 to 48 from top to bottom and hang it on the wall.

Every time you make it through one hour you can cut off a piece from the bottom and then see how many hours you have left. Try to make it all the way to the top star and you made it through your fast!!

It’s very motivating to see the stripe get shorter and shorter with each hour, it’s like making your way to the top, literally!
I got this idea from my grandma, we used to do this to count down the days until my birthday when I was little. I’m using it now to count down the hours of my fast but you can use it for literally anything.
It might seem silly but I do this every time and it’s awesome!

Dude I’m as surprised as you are! I can tell you what I have been doing though and maybe see if some of the tips work for you.
I try to stick to one meal a day.
I still live with my family so unless everyone is out i have to have dinner. But i make it so can adjust it around my limit
I walk at least 6000 steps a day
Walking to college and back is about 6000 steps, but usually over (around 10000) which includes walking around the campus and that. I don’t keep this up for weekends though. Too lazy for that. If you struggle at this, I recommend playing Pokemon Go while you do it.
Snack before a shift
This may sound silly but it is really helpful if you really need it! I do work experience once a week which involves lots of cleaning (dizzy fumes) and manual labour (more dizziness). Snack before you go to avoid dizziness. I usually have a chocolate rice cake (81 kcal AND good for sweet cravings) on the way. Chances are you’ll burn it off before you even leave. If you need it snack after too. I do this if i fasted before or if i just don’t feel well.
That’s all I do basically. I’ve still got a long way to go but i mean if my method is working then y'know

Does anyone else pull back their fat to try and get a glimpse of what you’d look like when you lose the weight? I do it all the time. The skin on my face, my neck, my arms, my thighs, my stomach, anywhere I can. It motivates me so much, seeing how tiny my bones are under my skin and how tiny I could be if I would just stop eating so much
